I see good and bad reviews. Most of the bad reviews are about the people who work here, which I personally think that they nice and friendly. Although once I had argument with one of them regarding a dish, but the manager came and replaced it right away. I think that everything here is good, but for me, the grilled sword fish top them all. I don’t know what make it so special, maybe it is the type of grilling they use, or the deep they use to wrap the fish, but it is something that I will go back again for more…

Fresh seafood to take home, or eat in! The happy hour here is decent, with several fried seafood items, raw oysters, and clam chowders (I especially liked the Manhattan clam chowder here). I love buying the Smoked Salmon Indian Candy to take home, but it is so expensive! The parking lot in back is small, and people need to learn how to park.

An employee was rude and misinformed when asking about my service animal. A low rating is for acting like she knows everything about service animals (more than people who have them). FYI - my service animal was not on the floor or interfering with anyone else.

Loved eating here... The service was great and the food delectable.....getting dinner here was a spur of the moment decision, but my fiance and I have no regrets.

Love the oyster bar. I've never purchased seafood that was off. Always fresh and clean. A bit expensive but I've always walked away happy. Parking can be a pain though. 4.7

The employees are not very knowledgable about the seafood it seems. Lucky for me the customer next to me corrected the information that was given to me. Be careful about the information you get from employees - you'd be better off googling it!

My attempt to brunch at Huckleberry on Saturday was a fail so we decided to come here as there were no wait. The four of us sat near the bar area. We shared the calamari, cioppino, alaskan cod fish & chips, and a bowl of clam chowder. The calamari had a thin batter and was tender. It was perfect! The cioppino was fantastic with lots of fresh seafood in it. I wasn't blown away with the chowder. It was a bit on the salty side. As for the cod, it was really tasty. Nice flaky batter and fish was so fresh! Our server was genuinely sweet and attentive. What I loved about Santa Monica Seafood is the fish market inside. They have all kinds of fresh fish and shellfish too! I hear they have a great happy hour. I will definitely be back for a glass of rosé & oysters the next time I'm in the area.
