I called to ask if they did a traditional round birthday cake with chocolate cake and white buttercream frosting. She said they did not. They do all kinds of "special order" cakes but no traditional birthday cakes. I said I guess I'll just have to go to Schnuck's then for that..and she just hung up

Almond horn, macaroons, and raspberry linzer cookies, I love you so. My mom said the almond horn is just like the marzipan her Norwegian relatives used to make in the 50's (before it was Americanized, cheapened, and gross). Holy cow, the tarts! The plum and apple are my favorite. The parmesan and pepperoni foccia are better than any slice of pizza you can get in town. This place is the real deal, no junk here. I can't believe how low the prices are for the quality and I don't know why people are complaining about the price. High quality ingredients are not cheap...get over it people. Fabulous bakery!

The breads here are great, the pastries here are delicious. If you can get the croissants first thing in the morning, before the edges have started to crisp, you should make the voyage. It's totally worth it. The ambiance is totally lacking and I've had mixed service, but one of the staff's kids hangs out there and she's adorable, which can negate some of the blasé attitudes. It's a little expensive depending on what you get, and they only allow cards for purchases over $5, which surely isn't good for the waistline. I take people here when I am trying to convince them that there is good food in CU.

The best pastries and breads in Urbana-Champaign. It's unfair to complain about their prices: compare them to Panera and then think about quality. Special orders for cakes work great, too.

I loved this place. The food was fab. I highly recommend the bacon, tomato and cheese croissant! I am going to bring back my family. The only downside was the coffee selection was limited. It did not affect my score because I wanted chai tea the day I went.

I go here every Saturday. The Spinach & Feta Croissant is heavenly, but so is everything else here! Go early and get it when it's fresh out of the oven and you will never eat another pastry. So delicious!

Great pastries, great atmosphere! Friendly staff. In the summer you can enjoy the pastries on the sidewalk.
