This was in the statement:
“We very much appreciate Léo’s efforts and his service to HP since his appointment last year. The board believes that the job of the HP CEO now requires additional attributes to successfully execute on the company’s strategy...”
No word about severance. When word gets out, perhaps there will be a new term. Let's say it's $12 million. Then when a company raises $3 million, it should say, "Yeah, we raised a quarter Léo."
UPDATE: His severance is about $25 million or two Léos. I wonder if the headhunter has to return any fees.
We need to be fair to him. I've never met the man. For all we know, he's very good but simply not right for this job. The big question remains: What do you do with a board that struck out three times in a row?
Put Woz on the board. Someone who understands technology and devices. And hire the next Jonathan Ive. It cannot be that only Jonathan Ive can design cool stuff.
