Rick's latest article for MAKE is published in issue #56. Check it out here:

A simple 90° elbow fitting, and a few rocket parts and you can easily turn your compressed air rocket launcher into a glider launcher.

I definitely want to mention the Young Inventors Program (YIP). My kids, Lauren & Sean, have participated in this program for several years now, and have loved it every year. Website here: http://www.aas-world.org/YIP/

It has inspired them to come up with all kinds of crazy ideas that we can usually make into reality. Some work better than others, but the process is always fun.

Some of Lauren's inventions can be found here:

Sean's inventions can be found here:

I also wanted to mention the NH Maker Faire that is held every year in Dover at the Children's Museum of NH. It is held at the end of August, and is great fun. more info here:

I received an early copy of MAKE Issue #39 today, which as a 4 page article on how to build an Air Rocket Glider (ARG) that my kids and I invented last year.  Look for it on newsstands in about 2 weeks.
Also, I have partnered with Rick Schertle, who co-wrote the article, and we are going to take a shot at making all kinds of air rocket related toys, starting with paper & tape air rockets, the ARG, and we are working on a couple other ideas as well.  If you are interested, join the community we are starting to build on our new website, www.AirRocketWorks.com
Also, we will be introducing a new Compressed Air Rocket launcher (CAR v2.0) and the Air Rocket Glider (ARG) on an upcoming KickStarter campaign which we are planning to go live with on 5/14/14.

You never know where one of your 3D designs will end up!
Here is one of the rockets Sean and I designed and uploaded to Thingiverse a couple years ago.
It was downloaded and printed by David Tapley, the owner of 3d-alchemy.co.uk, in the UK, and is now in a museum in London!

Come and check out the Upcoming 3D Printing Demonstration at the SEE Science Center in Manchester, NH on 12/10/13
I'll be demonstrating my personal 3D printer and a small portable 3 axis CNC machine at the event.  There will be several 3D printers making parts, along with their owners, who can explain the whole process from model to printed part.
Demonstrations are from 6-8 PM and there will be music, food and drinks from 8-10.

I had to delete the original post and create it again, as I wanted this to be shared publicly - there is no way to edit the sharing level once posted, so I apologize if you received this twice.
