Hi, all my friends,
I would like to share this page of mine to let you know or remind you that I wrote a book - in English - very simple English - because German is my mother's language. I never had an editor, the book is not censored or altered in any way I intended it to be. Just remembering part of my childhood and teenage years. It is available as e-book or NOOK book or in any bookstore of the world..It has good reviews which points out the fact that I never took sides...

It just occured to me - I am 77 years old  and not a wizzard in the internet - that I can ask you to add my site and look into the content, in amazon.com or Barnes & Noble or online at my publisher  lulu.com  The e-books are under 4 or  5 US Dollars....

My personal website has a special page which gives you insights about the history of that time  and all the info you will ever need if you are interested to buy it.  I think my website by itself is interesting in any case.....

i thank you very much for your attention and interest!  Love - Karin

Agnes Miegel was a poet loved by Prussians, by my parents,
Every time I read a poem of her, my eyes are tearing up, my emotions go on a roller coaster - the roller coaster of my life.... Once my roots were taken away from me, I feel adrift, homeless - no matter what we owned over the years...even when we lived in Western Germany after WWII, East Prussia is my home......
Our lifestyle highlights my emotions- we are modern Gypsies ( Please, all Romani People, forgive me to even use that word.....I am ready to say that I am a "World Citizen", but it betrays my feelings...I am still that girl who searched for pieces of amber at the shoreline of the Baltic Sea.....my time on earth is nearing his end point, and so are my emotions, I cry while I am typing this....

The Amber Museum is located within this Gate formation in Königsberg ( now Kaliningrad. But I heard rumors that the Russians are thinking of renaming it back to point out the Prussian History) . 9 of the old city gates either survived the bombing or were rebuilt).

Russia’s Kaliningrad region is believed to hold more than 90 percent of the world’s total amber deposits. This beautiful gemstone is the region’s main tourist attraction, but people come here for outdoor pursuits. Biking, yachting and kayaking can all be enjoyed along the scenic Baltic coasts.

Hi, all friends, people/bloggers in my circles - here is Karin Bartsch, the "other identity".....Once in a while - when I feel like it or when one of you wants to know something about my book or my childhood - I will post.
I have only saved a handful of pictures during my ordeal of fleeing from East Prussia, but I will try to copy some from the internet without violating any owners rights.

The header depicts a part of the Baltic Sea shoreline - I do not know in which area. The coast of former East Prussia ( you will find it as a Russian Oblast in the maps, amidst states which belong to the European Union now ), south of Lithuania. The coastline there was known as "Steilkueste", meaning steep coast,  and on some locations there are rocks strewn around at the shore.

Please, keep in mind, that I have only so much time to write. We are travelers and I try to be a good wife, cook, homemaker, host etc.....But I will share after an update.
Thank you all for your attention. Karin.
