More New Work

Here's the 2nd small painting from this new series.  I'm up to #7, but I'll post them maybe one a day for a bit.

I Love This Slightly Older Painting

From 2012 -- October, no less -- so not that much older, but I just changed out some of the paintings hanging in our living room, and I get to see this one across the room every day now.

Good move, me!

Fading Away - Golden Gate Bridge // San Francisco, CA

I can understand why people can have such a love for this bridge.  It's beauty and simplicity coexist in such a harmoneous balance, that sometimes you forget that was built for people transportation, not just for people viewing.  I don't foresee a time that I'll visit SF and not take in a sunrise or sunset with the bridge, and hopefully Karl the Fog will join the party also.

...lonely, sleeping without you. ~The Cranberries

I was feeling a bit sad that I missed the Photowalk in Donegal last weekend, so I poked around in my files from my last time there and found this.  Wish I could have been with you guys +Ireland.  xx

Back in the East -- Boston, MA

I just finished watching the documentary "A Constructive Madness."  The documentary chronicles the important work that Frank Gehry did on the Lewis House -- an ambitious architectural project that was designed but never built, but which served as a test tube of sorts for countless ideas by Gehry that would later be developed in other projects around the world.  It's a wonderful documentary on art and architecture that I'd highly recommend.  Thanks to +Scott Jordan for getting me a copy of it.  :)

While visiting Idaho last week Scott introduced me to Susan Desko http://www.susandesko.com/bio.html who worked with Gehry on the Lewis house and is featured in the documentary -- we visited an amazing home designed by her that felt frozen in time as a work in progress.  I'm going to try to work on photos of that remarkable home in the next few weeks.  In the meantime here's a photo of one of my favorite Gehry buildings, the Stata Center at MIT.
