Two incredible, sold out workshops completed here in Central Oregon! We had amazing students, magic light, perfect views of the Milky Way, and never ending shots of the night sky.

This image comes from +Mark Louka taken during our Crater Lake National Park night sky photography workshop. Absolutely incredible Mark!

Only a few spaces left in our entire 2014 Night Sky Photography Workshop schedule! Visit http://bit.ly/gpworkshops for more info.

There's been ways to get custom roms on those phones for quite some time. You can also get stock roms of just about everything. One ubuntu gets out, I imagine there will be more than enough community support out there to make the switch without having to buy a new phone. Though I imagine that by the time it's out, it may be worth investing in new hardware.

International Dark Sky Week

In 2001, “The First World Atlas of the Artificial Night Sky Brightness” reported two-thirds of the U.S. population and more than 50% of the European population had already lost the ability to see the Milky Way with the naked eye (http://bit.ly/16BdS69). The report also showed that 63% of the world population and 99% of the population of the European Union and the United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) lived in regions where the night sky is brighter than the threshold for light-polluted status set by the International Astronomical Union.

In 1994, an earthquake knocked out the power in Los Angeles. Many residents called local emergency centers reporting a strange “giant, silvery cloud” in the dark sky. That giant, silvery cloud was the Milky Way, which many residents had just seen for the first time.

Story
Introduction
Linux geek and lover of technology and coffee.

I like to learn and ask questions, which involves sharing my 2 cents, or 3 or dollars worth of thought.

I am not a programmer, but enjoy scripting in Python.

I run asterisk servers for a small Voip service provider and am looking to expand my reaches to new small businesses.

I am a recent transplant to Portland, OR. Would love to meet other technologists, geeks, or just cool people ingeneral to kick back and laugh with.
