If you're already using Adobe ColdFusion 10, then the built-in HMAC() function in CF10 can help sign the request URL with your crypto key.  

However, for clients running Adobe ColdFusion 9, here are the steps involved in generating a valid digital signature to be used with +Google Maps API for Business, using +Adobe +ColdFusion 9.

Force.com's APEX language is pretty straight forward and easy to pick up quickly, and when you combine that with Sencha ...... you can get a mobile app up and running quite rapidly.
