returned after many years. the typical chinese food was well prepared and flavorful. however, the fact they don't serve brown rice is indicative of the fact they are not keeping up with the times. the atmosphere is dated and worn. unfortunately, there are much better choices in the area. needs a reinfusion of innovation in their cuisine and atmosphere.

With all the great recommendations I was looking forward to the meal. The service was great the food was horrible. The tea flat, it was probably yesterday's tea, the rice had no flavor. The black cod Szechwan sauce top note was raw vinegar, not complexity. The wonton soup was under seasoned; the one scallop that was in it was good. The Spice chicken was very vinegary in taste; the Moo Shu was boring and flavorless. It all tasted canned and the indigestion after the meal was no treat. I lived in Asia for 10 years and know my Chinese food and this was the worst I've had in years. How did it make to the top 10 Chinese restaurants in the LA Times?

We love the originality of the dishes they dream up. Delicious. In 14 or 15 years of dining here, never had a bad experience. Consistently good. Especially enjoy their green bean and crispy beef dishes.

If you don't like Yujean Kang's, you probably don't like Chinese food. My girlfriend grew up in a Chinese household and this is the only Chinese restaurant she will go to (and she loves it :).

I've been going there for twenty years, my Mom first took me when I was in high school. Then I had my rehearsal dinner there for my wedding. One of my favorite restaurants of all time. For some reason people think Chinese food should be cheap and fast. Yujean's makes authentic Chinese food fresh to order. It's worth both waiting a few minutes longer and paying a little more. The tea smoked duck is profoundly divine, as are the dumplings and really so many other dishes. You can't order wrong. The staff is kind and relaxed. The back areas could use a paint job but the food couldn't be better.
