If you live in Clifton Park and are looking for tree removal Check out this 5 Star tree service review that Susanne left on Facebook. ( She also left it on Yelp)

"I highly recommend C&D and would have them again if the need arises. Dave quickly replied to my call, explained what needed to be done, and moved the expected date of service up before birds could begin nesting in the tree that would have to come down. Dave is a pleasant man who did a great job of taking down the tree and cleaning/clearing it all away. I found the price for the service to be reasonable, and I have already recommended him to several neighbors. Thanks for the great service, Dave."

C&D appreciates the time Susanne took to share her tree removal experience online and with all of her Clifton Park neighbors. Thanks, Susanne

The New York Department of Environmental Conservationstress the need for caring for your trees. It is important to remember the large trees are dangerous to work on and in most cases require the attention of a tree service professional to assure your safety and the safety of the person doing the tree work.

When choosing and Albany tree removal professional, be sure to verify that the tree service company has the appropriate credentials and insurance in place before hiring them. Tree service is expensive because of the hazards involved and the cost of good quality equipment. The cheapest job may not be the smartest way to go. Do your homework and check out reviews of the tree service companies you are considering make sure they are up to the task.

Severe cold weather and subzero temperatures can damage trees. Even though it has not been as cold in the Capital District as other places in the country, the cold can accelerate the decline of a damaged or diseased tree putting you and your property in danger from falling branches.

Albany tree services received emergency calls during the recent cold snap. It is important to take care of unhealthy trees during good weather so you are not faced with any winter surprises.

The severe cold can take a toll on your trees. Cold weather will cause some trees to "explode" when the sap freezes. The sap contains water, and therefore the sap expands when temperatures get cold enough for it to freeze the liquid in the tree. Once the sap begins to freeze, it expands creating cracking, exploding or gunshot sound as the tree bark splits. The bark contracts as the sap continues to expand.

If you live near a wooded area these sounds can be troubling as the thermometer drops:

We saw 47 below on our porch, and we didn't look again. I would hear these bangs and I blamed it on the house expanding or contracting, or whatever, from the cold, but it was the trees exploding. It was the bark bursting, and you could hear it. That's how wild it was.

— Shirley Loudon, "Freezes are becoming a distant memory", Good Fruit Growe

I was relaxing in front of a fire in the crispness of early morning when Crack! A sound like an explosion came from behind me in the woods. I scanned the trees and saw that a maple tree had "exploded". The explosion caused a big crack in the tree about three feet high. When a winter wind stirs the frozen trees, they sometimes appear to burst vertically. When it was 40 degrees below zero at night, I lay awake and listened to the trees explode. That's a true wilderness thermometer!

DO YOU HAVE A SCARY DEAD TREE ON YOUR PROPERTY?

A dead or dying tree on your Albany, Niskayuna, Troy or Clifton Park property is a potential liability. OSHA reports 100 landscape and tree fall fatalities every year. Falling trees and limbs also cause millions of dollars in property damage too.

The thing is it doesn't have to be a stormy day that brings a tree down. The integrity of a dead or dying tree can reach it's danger point even if the sun is shining brightly, putting you or your family or a passerby at risk for death or serious injury.

We all love our trees and if cared to they may stand tall for hundreds of years depending on the species. But just like everything else in nature, they have an expiration date.

If you have a tree that may need removal, call C&D Stump & Tree Removal and we will do a free tree inspection and let you know where you stand. If your tree needs to come down or dead branched need trimming, we will give you a free quote.

If you live in the Albany, NY capital district or southern Saratoga County, call us today or visit our website for more information.

Ole E Christensen shared this on Facebook: This company is very courteous, prompt, professional, and very respectful of your property. They took a very large tree down and because of where it was located could not use the bucket. The gentleman preferred climbing the tree and was very careful in cutting it down. They returned a few days later and took the stump out and you cannot tell we had a tree there. I would recommend this company to anyone who is interested in having a tree or stump removed and the price was reasonable for what they did. see less
