In lieu of our video update, we wanted to share a few of the recent project updates with everyone:
First we would like to thank Vegetronix for getting in touch and sending us a complimentary Moisture Sensor Probe. So far it’s working like a dream. You can see more about these sensors at Vegetronix.com, and we’ll be showing it off in more detail during our upcoming video update.
We’re also excited to already be implementing two system upgrades on a new Horto domi at BrokenSidewalkFarm Headquarters in Bertram, Texas, part of the OpenSour.cc network. We are installing a modified ventilation system, as well as an inline organic fertigation system. That’s right, the fertigation system has already been built and successfully tested!
The garden is growing incredibly well. We did have a localized (on the radishes) aphid problem, and will be testing an inline organic pesticide injection system attachment to the fertigation system soon. We did plan ahead for this in our current fertigation system prototype, and the implementation should go smoothly.
We can’t thank you all enough for your interest and support, and apologize for any perceived delay in updating the community. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in this short amount of time, and look forward to multiplying this progress in the near future through Open development.
