Our mission at Tuscany Tours is simple. We just want people to go home after traveling with Tuscany Tours and say, "That was the most amazing travel experience of my entire life!" And they often do...

Here’s what one couple said:
“This was our retirement & anniversary vacation we had planned for years---Italy did not let us down--it is as beautiful as we imagined and what made the entire trip most enjoyable was Pam & Sam from Tuscany Tours. They delivered what they promised and much, much more. The history, art, and the knowledge shared by Pam & Sam opened our eyes and hearts to a great culture. The food, wine, and accommodations were terrific and we felt as if we were visiting family. I would give Tuscany Tours the highest rating and recommend it to anyone contemplating visiting Italy.” – Alan and Nancy Wolochuk

One Interesting Thing About Sicily ...
Sicily is home to the largest opera house in Italy. Built in Palermo in 1897, the Teatro Massimo [Vittorio Emanuele II] was featured in a famous scene in The Godfather, Part 3.

Tuscany Tours - The Best of Sicily Tours - Sicily continues to seduce travelers with its stunning array of natural wonders, flavors and colors. From its uncontaminated nature: rugged mountains, rolling hills, an active volcano and the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea, to its treasured archaeological sites that tell the story of its ancient origins, to flavors of its cuisine and the vitality and charm of its irresistible residents, Sicily certainly has it all. Yet, Sicily remains off the radar for many foreign travelers.

Tuscany Tours - The Best of Sicily Tour video takes you on a journey of music and images through the amazing land of Sicily. You can see the places we visit twice yearly (spring and fall) when we lead our small group tour of Sicily. Sit back, relax and enjoy as we travel from Palermo on the north shore to Agrigento to Ragusa and Modica, then to Taormina and, finally, to Siracusa in the south-east corner of the island of Sicily. Tours are twice a year, so you can count on convenience booking one of our escorted, small group tours of Sicily.

Happy Earth Day from Tuscany!

For centuries, Tuscans have maintained a deep connection with the earth and today is no exception. We think Wendell Barry says it very well:

“The soil is the great connector of lives, the source and destination of all. It is the healer and restorer and resurrector, by which disease passes into health, age into youth, death into life. Without proper care for it we can have no community, because without proper care for it we can have no life.” – Wendell Barry

Italy is full of holidays and Saints Days, but none are more sacred or celebrated than Easter (Pasqua in Italian). The days surrounding Easter in Italy are filled with family, street processions, markets and specialty foods of the season. In every region of Italy, Italian mamas prepare dishes based on “heirloom” family recipes – handed down from generation to generation.

In Tuscany, one such dish is the traditional ‘Torta Pasqualina’; eggs, the ultimate symbol of hope, renewal and fertility, encased in a delicate, delicious pie filled with spinach or chard, herbs and fresh ricotta cheese. Some Tuscans replace the spinach with artichokes which are abundant this time of year in Tuscany!

Want to put this amazing dish on your Easter table? Here’s a wonderful recipe:

Buon appetito!
