INN AT KELLY'S FORD FOR AUCTION
RARE Opportunity!

"The Inn at Kelly’s Ford, an equestrian center, inn and event center in Remington, will be sold at an absolute auction in November, an auction company announced this week.

In a news release, Auction Markets, LLC, in cooperation with Century 21 New Millennium, announced that the Inn at Kelly’s Ford, at 16589 Edwards Shop Road, will be sold at absolute auction at the property at noon on Nov. 16.
The property, owned and operated by Linda and Bill Willoughby for 13 years, was first listed for sale in March for $5 million.

The property was last on the market at $4 million, according to the news release.

“Rarely do you ever have such a valuable property offered at absolute auction,” Stephen Karbelk, CEO of Auction Markets said in a statement. “The property is scheduled to sell to the high bidder, regardless of price, so anybody that is interested in acquiring this historically significant and well developed property needs to bid at this auction.”

The property, on the site of the 1863 Battle at Kelly’s Ford, includes lodging facilities, a pub, a restaurant, the equestrian center, banquet facilities and more.
“The Inn at Kelly’s Ford has become a prominent venue for weddings and other special events on the 138-acre property, and the Kelly’s Ford Equestrian Center is a firmly established hub of equine activity, with regular shows, boarding, training and other services,” a news release announcing the auction said."

Topic:
A Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment to Create Three New Zoning Districts: Marshall Town (M-T), Marshall Gateway (M-G) and Marshall Residential (M-R); and a Zoning Map Amendment to Rezone Properties within a Portion of Downtown Marshall to Three New Zoning Districts. A Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment to Create the Marshall Historic and Corridor District and a Zoning Map Amendment to Include the Boundaries of the Marshall Historic District (MHD).

Topic Description:
The following revisions have been incorporated into the 6th Draft of the Marshall Code, dated September 25, 2017, for consideration by the Board of Supervisors:

Section 3: Marshall Historic District (MHD) was updated to eliminate the creation of a Marshall Review Board, and give the Zoning Administrator the authority to review and approve applications within the MHCD. Any appeals of the staff decision would be heard by the Board of Supervisors. This alternate text was presented at the Board of Supervisors' public hearing on September 14, 2017.

The boundaries and associated contributing structures as shown on Map 1-1 Map 2 The Historic District of the Marshall Code have been revised. The revised boundary generally includes properties that front Main Street, west of the train tracks, properties along Winchester Road, north of Old Stockyard Road, and the historic residences along Anderson Avenue. This alternate map was presented at the Board of Supervisors' public hearing on September 14, 2017.

Text changes that add further clarity and flexibility were incorporated to address comments submitted on behalf of Old Salem Community Development and others at the Board of Supervisors' public hearing on September 14, 2017.

On September 14, 2017, the Board of Supervisors held a public hearing and voted 4-0 to postpone consideration of the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map Amendments. The public hearing was closed, and additional direction was provided to staff. "
