The right way to start your Sunday. 20 bucks gets you a kickass brunch entree (the burger with the lot is probably the best value) and all the mimosas/screwdrivers/greyhounds/bloody marys you can drink (for about 2 hours or until they decide to kick you out). If you're... thirsty, you can get many times your money's worth! I've spent many a Sunday getting happy here and then stumbling around the city with friends.

I like their prix fixe dinner special they offer. Great deal and atmosphere. I love their fried calamari and their sticky date cake. Oh and their drinks. I cant handle though the madness here for brunch. Attempt that at your own risk....

the long waits at this dive-y aussie-themed brunch joint are definitely not for the food. unlimited brunch cocktails keep patrons staying for hours but the quality of both the food and the mimosas are pretty low. great for drunk brunch with cash-strapped friends but really nothing more.

I thought I had written a review for Sunburnt Cow already, and was all set to write an update. But i hadn't, so let's pretend that I already wrote one that talked about how cool it was, and the delicious food, and great drink concoctions. Okay? Good. Update! Color me disappointed that Sunburnt Cow changed their menu! I liked the offerings they had before, and while I wasn't a frequent diner (most of the time when I'm on Avenue C, it's just to drink) I left happy. Not so this time. The regular menu has been replaced by a bunch of "burgers" some of which are just sandwiches. This strikes me as lame, but I suppose I don't have much say in the matter. I ordered a steak sandwich (and a steak sandwich), and it was sort of disappointing. Sub par meat that was chewy on pieces of white bread. The fries that were served with it were similarly bland and unexciting. Other burgers looked tastier, but mine was not. They also have a $25 credit card minimum. We'll leave aside the fact that this is a breach of their contract with the credit card companies, it's understandable why they do it. Each credit transaction costs the restaurant. And it's not worth the cost of the transaction on a $4 check. Now I've seen places that have $5 minimums, which is totally understandable. Even $10 is alright. But $25 is excessive. Luckily their drinks are still good. That's what you should be going here for.

A very popular brunch place which is always packed to the brim on any given weekend. However, their reservation policy is very strict. If you're over a party of 6 w/ reservations, they will not seat you unless your entire party has arrived, and they take credit card info from the person making the reservation, in case of complete no-shows. The place also has a seating cycle system that completely turns over at 11AM and 3:30PM, so arrive on time. Otherwise, the vibe here is fun, and the food is not bad. Service was superfriendly, and talking to aussies is just plain fun. Just make sure your entire group shows up on time!

The men here are beautiful. They also all have Australian accents, which is ridiculously sexy. The service was just overall great. Two of the bartenders took shots with my friend and I when the bill came. The waiters were so attentive and constantly refilled our glasses. The food was also great!

I used to go to this place for brunch all the time, but it's gone waaaay down hill. There are enough all you can drink brunches around town now, no need to bother with the sub par food and the rude staff. They kept threatening to cancel my party's reservation because I was late (only 10 minutes), and told us we had to leave after we'd been eating for an hour and a half or so because our "time was up" and that we could have a drink to go at the bar if we wanted. I was still eating, and another party that got there before us was apparently ok to stay. Nobody was acting crazy, just a group of friends hanging out over brunch. And when we did try to get that drink at the bar, they said "sorry, we don't know what you're talking about. Anyway, won't be back. They used to have a nice dinner special, but by the looks of it they don't even have that any more.

went for the brunch and the food was so-so. the drinks kept coming, but that doesn't make up for the burger, which wasn't anything tastier than going to shake shack or five guys, so the deal wasn't the best. the decor is underwhelming, and the bar area is cramped. if you want brunch, go somewhere else if you want better food and a location with better decor for conversations.
