So I asked Jeremy (my biophysicist buddy) about this. Here's his response: "It's NOT as big as you think. Lots of things will kill cancer cells in culture and spare normal cells. It's a cool finding that may be able to be exploited to generate a new therapeutic but there's a hell of a lot of possible therapeutics out there. As you will note, however, there are very few novel treatments that are very effective. This is another potential tool but finding a significant treatment is looking very hard. This seems hopeful to me."
