After trying out the Hangouts app, I got to say, the iOS apps are not quite full baked.  I am still suffering from notification spam when sending/receiving messages on my iPad and then I still get the notifications at the same time on my iPhone.  And it is very touchy about when it starts sending message notifications to other devices.  Just leaving the app can start them back up again.

I like the interface, very simple, clean.  I am glad to finally have a first party Google chat app on my iPad and iPhone.  But they need to work on the push notifications for iOS.  It isn't as fully baked as they made it sound for Android (and the Chrome plug-in)

Definitely an extrapolation of a few data points, but this topographic map is still pretty interesting to look at. For example, there is an interesting arc of high terrain in the Southern Hemisphere. Now the shape of that arc may or may not be reveal, but there do seem to be isolated high areas of dissected terrain in that area. Neat stuff!

Neat little video about decoding the language of a prairie dog species. Amazing that they can encode so much information in short little squeaks (predator+description)

Image of Saturn and its ring system taken on October 17, 2012 by Cassini. This image is composed of 60 images using the Wide-Angle Camera's violet, red, and infrared filters (that's why Saturn' appears a bit greenish).  You can also see Tethys and Enceladus at bottom left.  At the time, the Sun and Earth were behind Saturn from Cassini's perspective.

This is a much better view of my new desktop. I should remember that HDR is available for a reason.

So many great song covers in that game...

The full song from the short scene in Bioshock Infinite. Had to find it. Pretty good.

You can never have enough images of Titan's south polar vortex, so that's why we took a boatload yesterday :)
