The audience and scope are different for Google+ which makes it a different type of beast. This article hits it on the head. Although Facebook has closed the gap with a new groups UI, the fundamental mechanism for sharing is different.

There are a lot of Google+ haters out there, predicting its ultimate demise. But Google+ isn't going anywhere, and that's not just because Google hopes to build a social network that competes with Fac...

I wonder... At what point can I transition to Google+ instead of email?

We're trying such a method at work with our internal social networking apps... so far, the problem is customer buy in. Few ppl are using it. And also there is the problem of organizing all the data within it, or the user potentially missing a message amongst at the chatter. Can we archive yet? And how secure is this? Think SOX auditing.

Agreed with Marco. I think it has the feeling of being a little nerdy (sounds to me like C++), with a unique feeling of cool street talk ("hey man, I liked your article on G+")

I am trying Google+Blog plugin for sending G+ post to my blog. It's pretty cool.

Google+ UI feels heavily influenced by wemeddle.com by Eric Gilbert. Love this asymmetry in communication. Groups are the unit to share with. :)

Yes on Eric Gilbert and that presentation! Totally had to do research on tie strength of SN relationships in my Social Web class a couple semesters ago. The only thing (I've seen so far) that this does different from FB is forcing you to select a circle before posting. FB has always had lists but never forced you to use them.
