Bernie Sanders' new racial justice platform focuses on "different forms of violence against people of color in the United States" and it is winning praise from many in the Black Lives Matter movement.

Dear Google, please stop sending weird and crazy BS to me via "what's hot". I find it rather disturbing that you can interrupt my carefully cultivated information stream with patently untrue and hateful posts. I followed a gazillion scientists to get the inside scoop on the thoughts going on in their field. I specifically avoided fan groups so that I wouldn't have to filter out things like conspiracy theories and "our president is a (insert insult here)". In order to keep G+ a friendly place for me to read interesting non-emotionally charged information, let me choose who to receive updates from. Seriously, I get enough yellow journalism through the news organizations I follow on Facebook, not to mention the crazy people I know personally.

#vaccines  As opposed to most of those "please share this" memes, this is worth sharing.  IMHO.

Katrina Vanden Heuvel Slams Media For Obsessive Trump Coverage While Marginalizing Sanders
The Nation's Katrina vanden Heuvel took a whack at our corporate media for propping up the likes of bully Donald Trump, while continually portraying Bernie Sanders as unelectable. During a panel discussion on ABC's This Week, where regulars Matthew Dowd, Bloody Bill Kristol and Donna Brazile were debating whether or not Donald Trump is actually going to wind up being the Republican nominee for president in 2016, vanden Heuvel let the media have it for their part in promoting his dangerous, flame throwing candidacy.

We all know the corporate main stream media will do everything in their power to ignore, ridicule, and attack +Bernie Sanders. He is 100% against their oligopoly, as much as he is against the consolidation of the banking industry into the hands of just a few huge mega-corporations.

This political revolution will not be televised, which is why it's critical for regular folks, like you, to get involved on the grassroots level of this campaign. Together, there's nothing that can stop us, even a corrupt media that only does the bidding of the oligarchy.

While I would love to believe the story that Fox News can bring Trump back down, I remain skeptical. They didn't just create his current high standing in the polls (for ratings), they also built the most hardheaded and stubborn audience that they can. Trump speaks directly to the fears and prejudices of that audience, and Fox will become the very "bought and payed for" kind of media outlet that they themselves taught their audience to hate.

A successful Trump campaign would dispel the Fox Effect. As the Fox audience finds new news sources, they will be forced to face the fact that Fox has isolated them from the real world. Since this would happen between the primaries and the general election, there could be a large shift in voter turnout and voter opinion.

On the other hand, if Fox successfully shuts out Trump, they will have effectively admitted that they cannot support his views. They will be forced to relent in their racist, sexist, war on poor people...

...Or sheepishly recover their private feelings while trying to explain them away.

If I choose to do something, expect it to get done, done well, and probably beyond its original scope.
Introduction
I'm a student, a gamer, a philosopher, a weirdo, a writer, a musician, an atheist. I like to read things about psychology, advancements in prostheses, education, philosophy, physics, and many other things. I love learning new skills, especially when I can apply them right away. I've recently reacquired my old BMX bike and have been training in the dirt jump course just outside of town. I've been making music for a few years now. It's finally getting to the point where it sounds like actual music instead of clumsy noise. I have also played with computer graphics (the cover picture is my own work).
Bragging rights
I can build a computer. Ran a business. Built a waterfall. I'm an Eagle Scout. PC power user. Taught myself Visual Basic for excel and wrote a program to reorganize 10 large excel files into a single flatfile from scratch... in 3 months.
