We all want the collaborative process to run smoothly. In content marketing, it’s not uncommon to integrate a handful of agency or platform staffers with creatives working on contract to build a content creation team. From content strategists, branding agency pros and editorial directors, to writers, SEO experts, photographers and graphic designers, we all need direction and clear instructions regarding client needs.

Let’s chat about assignment summaries.

Authenticity in content marketing is having a huge moment. But, how many details do you really want to hear as a reader? As an author, how much do you feel comfortable sharing? It's a topic among first-person writers that deserves some attention.

Lately my friends in the Siouxland Celiac Group have been discussing the challenges of eating away from home. Although going to a restaurant may be considered a splurge or special meal for some, for those who get ill when eating gluten, it can be incredibly difficult to feel safe and understood when someone else is preparing your meal.

This week on the blog I’m sharing my usual approach to eating at a new restaurant and how I size up whether or not I’ll eat there and what I might pick from the menu.

Here's the post: https://www.cupcakesandyogapants.com/tips-for-eating-gluten-free-at-restaurants/

I’d love to hear how YOU manage eating out if you have a dietary restriction or food allergy. How do you ensure your food will be prepared and handled with your medical needs in mind?

As we grow, our abilities naturally shift and change. Remember being a kid and fumbling with those once confusing shoelaces? They now get finessed into a knot without much thought.

The same evolution happens when you’re diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.

You've mastered downward-facing dog. You flow gracefully through sun salutations. But, you've hit a plateau and feel like you need something more. When I reached that point in my yoga journey, I started to incorporate more yoga props: the straps, blocks, and bolster pillows that help you achieve poses.

I know what you're thinking: banish the idea that props are only for beginners! They're actually the secret to taking your yoga practice to a deeper level. Intrigued? You might want to learn how to do wheel yoga.

Check out my latest post about yoga on the +Tom's of Maine Good Matters blog!

A friend recently asked for a few quick website start-up tips for his solopreneur buddy.

SEO was on the list.

I had to shift gears and get into the mindset of a new business owner, who presumably doesn’t have any background working with digital SEO firms or tools like Google Analytics, SEMRush, KWFinder, Google Keyword Planner or Moz.

So, I shared my unscientific, 10-second SEO research method that’s pretty darn effective.

10 years ago, unimaginable pain and blistering skin bubbled up over the course of a few hours and landed me in the emergency room on Halloween 2008.

I don’t care to share the gory details of having Steven Johnson Syndrome. Instead, I’m celebrating. I’m one of the lucky ones. My case was mild. Others aren’t so lucky, and I know this. This experience has been a huge motivator for me to be better. How ‘better’ is defined changes year to year, but I know it’s what I want.

Here’s a little story about the moment when autoimmunity probably started for me. And, moving forward, that will be the focus of Cupcakes and Yoga Pants. I want to provide comfort, solidarity, education and insight on this crazy reversal of the immune system and how it affects and inspires an everyday gal from Iowa. I’m not a doctor. I’m am empowered SJS survivor and autoimmune warrior.

You are the ultimate small business owner. By day, you develop and offer amazing products or services to an appreciative audience. In the evenings, you manage the books, crunch budgets and learn about branding. Kudos to you!

So, how's your marketing strategy performing this year? How many leads have you converted into sales? Is your social presence getting stronger and influencing your ideal customers? If you're feeling a bit deflated, don't. Many small business owners need marketing help. They have more responsibilities to manage than ever imagined, and marketing often gets pushed to the back burner during a busy week. We get it.

Good morning! Happy Thursday to you!

A writer friend recently asked for feedback on his blog posts. I gladly clicked on the link and read his informative and interesting topics.

I browsed actionable advice. But, there were gaps.

I suggested a few tips to polish those posts so they’d really shine, and I thought it might be helpful to share them with you too!

Itchy skin is annoying. Whether you have several skin conditions, or just don’t have a routine in place to give your skin some TLC, there’s so much you can do to feel better.

After noticing my eczema skin care treatment article ranking in the top five posts on this blog most days, I thought I’d expand those ideas into a new post relating specifically to the lingering itch that accompanies rosacea, autoimmune atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis, three skin conditions I manage each day.

Since my diagnoses (via skin biopsies), I’ve paid extra attention to what I’m putting on my skin and inside my body that can have an effect on my skin. If you also have these conditions, these tips might help you too.
