Anyone who knows this pub will tell you it hasn't changed in donkeys years, it really is quite run down and shabby, the irony is, any tourists or out of towners who walk in there think that it's been designed to be like that, and that it's chic! That said though, it does have a good selection of drinks, good beers and ales. If whiskey or bourbon is your tipple of choice then this is probably the best place in Brighton. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Really lovely Indian restaurant that has deservedly built a good reputation for itself. The food they serve, is of a very high standard, plenty of varied options on the menu, all generously but perfectly portioned. The decor is good and the tables spaced out well, so as to not feel cramped. The staff are friendly and attentive. Off the beaten track...but well worth seeking out.

One of the stand out city centre pubs. Has a really good choice of beers, lagers etc. Good selection of wines and spirits. Food is really good and competitively priced for its location. The decor is really nice, cosy feel to the place and a really good atmosphere. Staff have always been polite and helpful.

Fantastic market that you can lose hours in, just browsing around, picking up some real bargains. The food is unbelievable, there is an abundance of food stalls, that caters for just about every cuisine of the world, the smell alone will make you salivate. Atmosphere is really good, but it can get very busy!

Another pub that has had a much needed makeover. The decor now is great, lots of art work on the walls gives it a real bohemian feel, but also cosy. The drink selection is pretty good, lots of different ales, including some local beers. Good wine and spirit choice as well. Haven't eaten here yet, but the food looks lovely and a good selection of dishes are on the menu. There is a really nice atmosphere, and it does get really busy on Fridays and Saturdays, especially if sport is on, which this pub also caters for, having several screens including a large pull down cinema style screen. The staff in my experience have always been polite and helpful.

As a born Brightonian I can really appreciate how this part of my home town has changed over the decades. Once, a run down, no go, dive of a place, it now is THE place to go for good food, some of the best pubs, shopping, so many little quirky independent shops have sprung up, selling just about everything. Mind you, Snoopers Paradise has been a constant and is still a must visit for bric-a-brac shopping. Lovely area...great atmosphere.

Traditional style pub that has had a nice makeover in recent years. Has a good selection of drinks, but not exhaustive. Great venue for sports as there are screens dotted everywhere. Has regular live music, disco or karaoke nights on Friday or Saturday, and a regular quiz night on Sundays. They also serve some really good pub grub, burgers, fish & chips, all are reasonably priced.
