Came here for lunch to chat with a friend I barely see. Looking for parking took a while. My friend came early so the wait wasn't long when I showed up. I ordered their jamaica (hibiscus) tacos and their spinach-mint limonade juice (aka green potion), which were surprisingly yummy. Their salsa didn't disappoint either. The atmosphere is clean and big, lots of sunlight. Staff is great and the food is made with fresh ingredients. What I love most about this place is they help at-risk and formerly gang involved females by offering then training within the food and service industry. I look forward to coming back here to try their breakfast food.

Great food, great service! We enjoyed the variety of vegetarian sandwiches, as well as soup and juices! Delicious!

Good ambiance, prices are not too high but could be a bit more competitive. Lots of eye catchy art. Did not have to wait long to be seated and service was pretty decent. Not a stellar spot but pretty good place.

I was drawn to Homegirl Cafe after meeting Fr. Boyle, the Jesuit priest who founded Homeboy Industries and Homegirl Cafe. The staff are friendly and are beyond willing to serve their customers. Today was my first visit to Homegirl and I was beyond impressed with the food and service. Homegirl makes the best Carne Asada tacos so rich in flavor. If you are looking for an inexpensive time out near Downtown LA Homegirl is the place and I would recommend it to anyone.

Came here for breakfast on a Friday. I was able to find street parking about a block away, 2hour metered. I was very happy with my meal and service over all. The fresh juice, Angela's potion, looked gross but it was delicious and very refreshing. The chilaquiles with eggs and potatoes were great and very filling. The portions were huge. Service was quick and friendly. Will return to try other items on the menu.

I have never in my life had such a perfectly poached egg. And while that may not sound like the biggest dealmaker to some, when you are the kind of person who would trade literally any other food item for a poached egg, it is no small matter. The chilaquiles here are awesome, which will come as no surprise to anyone who has ever bought Homeboy chips at the grocery/farmers' market. Great salsa, the perfect amount of cheese, those bomb chips, and that egg. Oh dear god, that egg. There just aren't enough words... Take the Gold Line to the Chinatown station to avoid parking in the relatively small lot. And don't hesitate to ask for a tour of the garden/greenhouse! One last note—I saw a review left by someone who couldn't handle the "too many tattoos." It's possible that I have never felt sorrier for anyone on earth. There is no cosmetic crime great enough to keep me from that egg.

I recommend the Turkey sandwich. It's heavenly. Salad was very refreshing. Service was a little slow during lunch time. Lively atmosphere.
