I absolutely Love the Star. Great food, people, and atmosphere. Love to drink a little wine and listen to some music. I highly recommend this place. It is truly a great dining experience.

Overall, I would definitely eat there again! The entrance and appearance are that it is just a hole in the wall. Although the decorations and furniture are nothing exciting, the dining area was clean. We are here for lunch. The place only had maybe 5 tables occupied and a few at the bar. The one waiter was able to sufficiently serve everyone. He was lively, attentive, and gave advice about menu items. We tried the "Taste of New Orleans" and a shrimp appetizer. The entire meal was excellent! What a delicious surprise for this hole in the wall. What a treat!

Came down to nola for a long weekend and wanted to find a more local place for dinner. Food was great. Blackened ribeye was one of the best Ive had in a while. Good music too. Staff was nice, kept drinks full. Food had great local flavor with good prices. Only issue was the server forgot to put in an order of jambalaya so it came out late. Other then that it was a great restaurant. Would definitely go back.

Sitting in tropical isle about to throw up. My stomach feels really bad after eating the New York Strip. I have a very strong stomach and something about this meal was not right. Worst $100 meal I've ever had. Sorry. Good service though.

Food was awful as was the service. The waitress did not even take our drink order and when prompted to she informed us the they did not have alcoholic beverages but if we so desired we could walk to the corner and he friends work there we could get a drink and bring it back. When we asked to spilt the check as we had four people dinning she said I can't do that but if we did the math she could enter the amounts?????. The filet was poor a poor cut and way under cooked and the sauce tasted like hormel brown gravy out of a pack and that was on top of the stuffed filet just plain awful and did I mention it cost $46 and only came with one side no salad or soup???? The bread was cheap French bread soaked in some kind of cooking oil and doused in Parmesan cheese and wrapped in bounty paper towels. PLEASE!!!!! Don't make the same mistake we did.... This may seem a little unbelievable but it is one hundred percent true.

We LOve this place! It's full of local color. The lobster dinner is outstanding....the cream spinach hmmmm great. The wait staff has always been wonderful and s large part of the atmosphere. The bartender makes this drink called the blackberry or black cherry and peach monitor... My new favorite drink! Oh and the bread pudding is the best. I highly recommend this place!

We absolutely enjoyed food there, if you are looking for authentic home made kitchen food then you have to go for it. Don't forget to bring your cash and wine. They don't accept credit cards and don't sell alcohol.

Supremely atmospheric, nice place to just hang out and enjoy a drink. Their lobster stuffed filet mignon is amazing though.
