January 30
On January 30, we will leave New York. I didn't know how else to begin this, so I decided to just say it. 2015 was such an interesting year. In a way, I feel like I did a tremendous amount of growing up. I actually, physically, felt a new shift into adultho...

2015/2016
I just needed a few weightless moments, high up in my parents' house, tucked into the garden tub next to the window. I could see the tops of trees and the soft snow floating by like a distant relative of the white fluff I'd piled high up the sides of the ba...

DIA NEW YORK
What a thrill to have some NYC portraits of our little family, shot by my dear friend Belle of Dia New York. She is so sweet-natured, so calming and natural, and she clearly has an eye for capturing the best expressions. Thank you so, so much, Belle! We wil...

Things I Didn't Know Before This Year
1. It takes longer to figure anything out than they  say it will. 2. You will never actually feel your age (or rather, what you think your age should feel like). 3. I actually like a center part when my hair is long. 4. Life happens. It doesn't happen the r...

I have heard myself say, on more than one occasion, "To move to New York is like moving to another country." There is a very real culture shock coming to live in the city from, literally , anywhere else, even with a moderate amount of pre-exposure to New Yo...

Story
Tagline
I've got a certain way of seeing the world.
Introduction
My name is Sarah Ann Noel. (I married into a family where I became the fourth Sarah Noel. So in the interest of originality, Sarah Ann Noel it shall be.)

I'm a wife, a mother, a writer and an editor. My identity is in being an image bearer. I've got a certain way of seeing the world.

I write a blog sometimes, mostly a collection of stories, once in a while just a single thought. Most of what I write are moments I felt needed to be learned from and recorded. Sometimes those things are serious and sometimes they are just plain silly. I used to work really hard at sticking to one or the other; now I just write whatever comes to me because it's all me. A blog is kind of an exercise in that too--being all of the parts of me, without hesitation.

I used to live in Denver with my husband, Trevor, and daughters, Iris and Edith. In May 2014, we packed up and moved to Brooklyn, NY, which is sorta crazy and pretty much a dream come true for me. When I'm not blogging, I dabble in other writing forms, freelancing to local businesses and magazines and other blogs and websites. I've got a lot of work upon my website if you care to see.

I'm working on my first book; but that's another matter entirely.
Bragging rights
I married the best one and have the two most beautiful babies in the world.

Can I give a place zero stars? This company is a pyramid of thieves and liars. You think you're paying for services and coverage that don't actually exist. The customer service managers are literally never available. I once had a service rep put me on hold three times to look for a manager and came back the last time saying "I've been to every office in the building and can't find anyone." It took four calls, two filed complaints, and lots of other threats to receive my ID cards and welcome packet due to a "glitch in the system;" and then when I requested to be refunded for the time period where I was unable to use the coverage, they said they would cancel my plan at "no penalty to me," like they themselves knew that NO coverage was better than coverage with them. With the exception of one individual, Alex, who eventually got me my information though had no power to do anything else, all of the people I dealt with at Metroplus were unhelpful and unconcerned that I'm a mom of two toddlers needing insurance information to take them to the doctor. Compared to other plans in the NY State of Health Marketplace, Metroplus's price is right. But trust me when I say, you get get what you pay for? Except for the level of service Metroplus offers, you're still overpaying.

Yoga Loft Hawaii is such a beautiful, peaceful studio. The instructors are the best and really know what they're doing. Highly recommended!

I was terribly behind on my Aussie's vaccinations and wanted to get him in as quickly as possible. The people at VetCare could not have been kinder, more understanding, more efficient, or more professional. They put both me and Roscoe (a normally nervous-type pup!) right at ease. Don't be fooled by the location or outside of the building! The staff is impeccable, the prices reasonable. They are exactly what I was looking for in a new vet.
