"Managing Women Disciplining Labour in Modern Japan" by Elyssa Faison is one of the first books about Japanese History that hasn't made me very angry. I find myself grinning as Faison describes factory managers and owners at a loss as to how to control their factory women.Oh no
, what shall we do against those women organising themselves in unions? Oh, we will just pack their free time with hours and hours of classes and education.Oh no!
Now we have a whole bunch of women who a literate enough to pick up any book or magazine they like and read it. They are reading the wrong books, I repeat, they are reading the wrong books.
Excuse me, while I crackle manically. #japan #japanesehistory #factorygirl
