The Death of POD
These capybaras came out in the evening to graze on the hotel grounds. Well, this is it, I'm killing off POD. After at least 15 years, POD is no longer serving its purpose of sharing the photos I love. This is because, since my brain hemorrhage, I no longer...

Animals sitting on capybaras
There is a flickr blog called Animals Sitting on Capybaras I know, pretty narrow topic. I already have a few photos on there. I wonder if this one will make it. This is a crested caracara, a bird we are seeing more and more of in Central Texas. Caracaras wi...

Looks like we are in for a spate of capybara photos so hang onto your hats! This one shows a herd of capybaras enjoying the day at the beach. Actually, herds of capybaras are called bands. There, you leaned something new today!

How doth the little caiman...
How Doth The Little Crocodile... How doth the little crocodile Improve his shining tail, And pour the waters of the Nile On every golden scale!  How cheerfully he seems to grin How neatly spreads his claws, And welcomes little fishes in, With gently smiling...

Roly poly
I think some people call these pill bugs or sow bugs. Actually, they are not bugs at all! Roly polies are the only terrestrial crustaceans. That has little to do with today's photo though. The animal in today's (admittedly horrible) photo is the same hairy ...

Cattle of the Pantanal
This is an example of cattle of the Pantanal. You might think they are a nice color, white with dark legs. Think again. Their legs aren't white, that is mud or, you know, something else.

A little mouth
Capybaras have surprisingly little mouths for such large teeth. You can see the lips in this photo puckering up for a kiss.

Cute capy butt
The capy in the foreground shows how cute capybara butts are. They have a little comb over in the back to cover anything risque. That capybara is about the same age as my Mudskipper Rous is now, a little over six months. The rest of the capybaras appear to ...

Flight of the dragonfly
I have no idea what kind of dragonflies these are, I am just impressed with myself for being able to catch one in flight. No doubt that was an accident, but I am claiming skill anyway.

I prefer "furry"
Today's photo is a cute little hairy armadillo. Actually, they are about the same size as the niner-banded armadillos we have here in Texas only more banded and hairier.

Not dead...yet
Apparently this caiman hung around the hotel a lot because they fed her. I'm not sure what they fed her though.

My life is centered around a capybara. I am a liberal, atheist tree-hugger.
Introduction
Wouldn't the sentence "I want to put two hyphens between the words Fish and And and And and Chips in my Fish-And-Chips sign" be clearer if quotation marks had been placed before Fish, and between Fish and and, and and and And, and And and and, and and and And, and And and and, and and and Chips, and after Chips?"

I picked Dr. Grady Rylander out of a phone book and I'm glad I did! I was having a problem with flashing lights in my eyes. His office scheduled an appointment for me that day. At the end of my visit, Dr. Rylander diagnosed me with left lower quadrant anopsia. He told me that I had a brain lesion in my right visual cortex. He and his staff worked tirelessly to get me in to see a neurologist as soon as possible. In addition, Dr. Rylander was very good at explaining what was going on and very comforting in a situation that was quite frightening. I believe Dr. Rylander really cares about his patients, their eyes, and their health. You couldn't go wrong with him.
