...Sounds (and looks) like... breaking up is hard to do +Dave Nitsche :)  Especially if one is trying to ...find  balance afterwards.  This works, IMO.  Well done

This was meant to be a commentary on child abuse. Not much PS work just pumped the blues a bit and sharpening.

I can see a child abuse message communicated through doll abuse.  This could have been a closeup of 'the' relevant scene in Toy Story.  I like what the blue boost is doing here +Dave Nitsche Nice work as usual

So you want to be a member of the art community huh?...

"In 2005 Bobby Beausoleil had a selection of his artwork exhibited in Clair Obscur Gallery  Los Angeles. Just prior to the exhibition, the gallery exhibited photos of Sharon Tate"

For those whom that name doesn't ring a bell Bobby was a member of Charles Mansons gang and was convicted for killing Gary Hinman in the first of the brutal murders Manson and his people committed.

So if you ever get down about galleries rejecting your stuff just think of the excellent company you're keeping by NOT being on the walls.

Peace
Dave

Two musicians having a good time. It's not one against the other. It's two guys having fun and ripping. They both sounded great. Music isn't a freaking competition, it's an art. Try getting up on stage with Joe B cold and see what you can do. LOL. Hats off to both of them.

An IR shot I did of the Frank Lloyd Wright house called "falling water" a while ago. The most magnificent house I've ever seen. Hope you enjoy.

+John Christopher  I borrowed a friends 20D (I think it was) that was modified to shoot IR only. I believe it's got a 72 filter in it. It was a lot of fun to use.

Contest: It’s a Feeling - $350USD winner take all!!!

Please help spread the word and share this post! :D

We are glad to announce a new contest sponsored by one of our www.PHOTIGY.com team members, conceptual photographer Dave Nitsche. The theme of this contest is feeling and emotion. A lot of our focus on Photigy is based on commercial work with emotion, trying to make products look as good as they can while adding emotion with light and composition. This contest will be about emotion in a commercial environment. Use a single subject or multiple subjects in a frame and show a feeling! The image should tell a story and make the viewer feel what you’re trying to convey.

Dave’s picture below gives and example of what the team will be looking for. We also want this to be your vision! Tell us something about your life, about something important to you, something going on in the world or whatever else you can use for inspiration.

Rules:
1. Must be shot in a studio or studio like environment
2. Only inanimate objects can be used
3. Images must be a minimum of 900 pixels horizontally or 750 vertically depending on orientation of image
4. Must be a new image and not created prior to the announcement of this contest.
5. Images must contain camera Exif data so we can validate the date taken. If images do not have EXIF data they will be disqualified.
6. Naming convention of image should be username_imagetitle.jpg
7. Only one entry per contestant.

Deadline:
Images must be submitted to the Photigy contest forum by 12:00 Eastern Time US July 31st.  The winner will be announced August 1st on our Photigy live hangout on Google+.

This is a winner takes all contest. +Alex Koloskov +Genia Larionova and  Dave will review all images and pick the one they feel represents a story or feeling the best. The winner will receive a $350 USD gift card from a major camera shop local to that person or if they have a paypal account the money can be deposited there. Yes this is a world-wide contest and is open to anyone!!!

This will all be posted on www.photigy.com and the forum for uploading pics will be generated in a few days. I will put the link in this post and a new post when it's created.

Here's the Photigy link as promissed!!! http://www.photigy.com/studio-photography-contest-emotion-in-a-commercial-environment/

Good luck all and get feeling!!!!

Introduction
Hi, I'm a conceptual photographer living in the USA. I've been clicking a shutter for about 9 years now and still love doing it. Some people think my stuff is a bit out there but it's what's in my noggin. Hope you enjoy...
