I accidentally elbowed a lady in the breast in the hotel lobby while ago.

I apologized and said, "If your heart is as soft as your breast, you'll forgive me."

She said "If the rest of you is as hard as your elbow, I'm in Room 216."

Story
Introduction
I'm a 52-year-old writer, editor, ex-musician, dreamer, reality catcher, ex-con, husband and father.

I'm the editor of Toke Signals, an independent cannabis blog, and author of The Little Black Book of Marijuana.

I'm also cannabis critic for the Seattle Weekly (one of only two marijuana critics for major newspapers in the U.S.), and I write the national news section of The Northwest Leaf, a print magazine for the medical marijuana industry here in Washington state.

As well, I'm editor of Hemp Newsthe internet's longest running compilation of international news stories about hemp and cannabis.

I ran Toke of the Town, Village Voice Media's site of cannabis news, views, rumor and humor, for its first 3+ years, 2009-2013.

I have three kids, seven tattoos, a criminal record, a terminal disease, and an attitude.

I was born in Alabama and spent the first 38 years of my life there and in Mississippi. In the 1970s and 1980s, I was a drummer in various hard rock bar bands in Alabama and Mississippi.

Since 1985, I've worked for newspapers, ad agencies and magazines. I've also taken inventory, indulged in independent entrepreneurship, run a newspaper route and served time. I've been on the West Coast, L.A. or Seattle, since 1999.
Bragging rights
I get paid to smoke marijuana.
