The Scearce Rudisel Kumfer Martin logo tips a hat to past ownership. Don Scearce (S) began the company in 1974 Warsaw, Mary Ellen Rudisel Jordan (R) took the reigns in the 90's, and SRKM was born out of the merger of BA Martin Architects in Plymouth and Scearce Rudisel in Warsaw in September of 2014. Jeff Kumfer (K) and Brent Martin (M) are now partners practicing architecture in Warsaw, Indiana.

Vacant for years, this space has a diverse history: a hardware store, sporting goods, bait and tackle, and multiple restaurants that surely welcomed travelers stopping at the Vandalia Pennsylvania Depot across the street. Bourbon Street Pizza now makes good use of its central location in Culver.

This home began life as a barn in the 1800's. It was carefully taken apart, moved, and re-erected as the structure for the new living space. SRKM Architecture designed the foundation and worked with the client to develop the floor plan. Materials from original barn were re-purposed to become cabinet doors, railing balusters, and the fireplace. One photo can not properly capture the beauty of this home!

A devastating fire destroyed a multi-generational home in Culver on Lake Maxinkuckee. Using historic photographs, the new home reimagines the agrarian spirit of the historic lakefront home with gambrel roofs, cedar shakes, and divided lite windows.  Inside, the home is thoroughly modern with a dramatic great room giving way to a sweeping four-season porch facing the lakeshore.

Architectural plans for snowman construction. Mary Ellen Rudisel Jordan suggested something for the window for the winter of 2011. This is what we came up with. Miss her wit!
