We were craving our favorite cozy spot last night and were rewarded with another great evening at Patina ! Love these guys - always happy to see Tim in the kitchen and Manny and Jose at the tables. Consistently wonderful seasonal and fresh choices, interesting wines and intimate ambiance. The corn soup was to die for and not a drop of dairy. As strong as Tim is with beef and pork shoulder, his work with seafood is so inventive. The grilled octopus appetizer, finished with a mole, was spectacular. This guy is loaded with talent. LA needs more choices like Patina.

The stir fried hand drawn noodles were great. So were the scallion pancakes and fried dumplings. It'll be worth going back to Philly just for this restaurant. Unfortunately Chinatown in DC is pretty bad.

Absolutely wonderful food and even better service. The portions seem to be based on a European diet (or that of any other diet, but not American). The flavors and presentation more than made up for it though. Who wants to go into a food coma during an LA Phil concert, anyway?

Patina is a perfect spot for a nice dinner if you're going to one of the theaters in DTLA (ie. Ahmanson). You're already dressed up so why not spoil yourself with fine dining. We went with the 5 course tasting menu ($45 per person) and we added an order of their PEACH SALAD ($15) which the waiter RAVED about. It was VERY GOOD and they will happily split it for two if you ask them. Since there were two of us we each got a different dish per course and below are the winners. FIRST - "Chips and Dip" - the salmon chicharronnes (fried skin) went really well dipped in the avocado mousse. SECOND - White Corn Agnolotti - only dish in the second course WITH BACON, you gotta go for it! THIRD - Black Sea Bass - good quality fish FOURTH - Braised Pork Belly - MUST ORDER FIFTH - We passed on the dessert and just got cheese. They have a GREAT SELECTION of CHEESE! House sparkling wine was $12 a glass, which was pretty good and their creative cocktails were $15 each. Ambiance was fancy but not stuffy and the SERVICE was TOP NOTCH!

I love this place. I live close by and it's become a favorite for a beautiful, romantic dinner or perfect for a double date. It's small and even in a strip mall in Hollywood feels like quaint and French the minute you walk inside. The menu changes daily. We always order the prix fixe menu and always love it. From duck to steak to arctic char to salmon, their mains are always outstanding. Their desserts have been from mediocre to amazing - but I love how different it is every time we go. Get a bottle of wine and enjoy this amazing restaurant. I will say the service is sometimes off... Friday and Saturday nights are busy, and in a small restaurant with only two servers, you can sometimes wait a while between courses. But we love the ambiance and the food, so we just keep drinking our wine and enjoy the slow, European pace.

ame here the other day for our holiday party and I gotta say it was a nice experience! I can't comment on the price, but service and food was exceptional! We had the whole outdoor patio to ourselves and the staff was kind enough to light up all the heaters to keep us warm and cozy while we mingled in the company of passed small bites and glasses of wine. I wasn't that fond of the small bite that contained the raw scallop sandwiched between two crunchy chips. The sweet potato ravioli was a better alternative. For the meal, we started off with a salad that was lightly dressed in vinaigrette. Personally, I would have prefered a tad bit more dressing to give it some more flavor to mask the true flavor of the greens and carrots. For the main course, I ordered the Shortrib. It was nice and flavorful and you can definitely eat it without a knife. I would, however, prefer a bit more of the mashed potatoes than what they had included with the dish. The amount that was included was only about a spoonful's worth. Dessert was nice and light with ice cream that's light and fluffy served with some sliced persimmons and syrup. Having it shaped like a marshmallow and served on a plate does make it hard to scoop up each time. Nevertheless, I still finished that place cleaned! Location, location, location! The restaurant is situated in the same building as the Disney Concert Hall. Needless to say, it's a great location right across from MOCA, and close to the Music Center. I definitely will consider coming back for a special occasion. Valet Parking is available in the front of the restaurant for $8.

Yessss....some succulent meals add to the overall experience at Patina. The wait staff are pros, helpful and on time. The location is spotless, and the food delicious. I strongly suggest reserving a table, even if there isn't a line, it makes the entire process smooth! A lovely restaurant to go both for business or for personal reasons.
