America’s veterans represent the best of America and I am deeply grateful for their service.

Click on the post below to see the many ways that Oregonians honored our veterans this past weekend. I was honored to participate in several of them.

I remember 30 years ago. I was at the Oregon capitol with my aunt. She pointed to this gangly guy walking across the lawn and said, "Keep an eye on him. He will make Oregon proud." That guy was Sen. Wyden, and she was right.

Without congressional action, the Stafford loan interest rates are set to increase this summer from 3.4% to 6.8%, raising costs by $1,000 a year for approximately 119,220 students in our state. We want to hear from Oregonians. In the comments below or on my website, tell us your story what doubling student loan rates would mean for you.

You can also tweet your comments at @RonWyden using #DontDoubleMyRate

It's great to talk about budgets however why does the average American make $40k while congress $147K a year? How can people who make so much more even know what life is like for the average American....maybe we could fix some of the budge issues but cutting the pay? Maybe this would also help those in Congress have a better idea of the problems the average American faces such as putting food on the table.....let's do the math there are 535 members of congress if everyone just took a cut of 47k a year that would mean the government would have $25,145,000 ....seems like a pretty good fix to be

Visiting with high school students across Oregon this week to hear their ideas and answer questions. Going to make it to 11 high schools in total during my "Listening to the Future" tour.

There is no sound policy reason to sacrifice the privacy rights of law abiding American citizens in the name of cyber-security. I vow to fight #CISPA and any bill that asks Americans to make the false choice between secure networks and personal privacy.
