Jeremiah 17:9-10
The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately sick;
who can understand it?
“I the Lord search the heart
and test the mind,
to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his deeds.”

Many will say they are loyal friends, but who can find one who is truly reliable? (NLT) ( Proverbs 20:6 )

Words are easy to say, it only takes a breath to utter them. But it's much more difficult to be a reliable friend. It requires consistent communication, thoughtful awareness of feelings, and opening yourself up in vulnerable times. Don't be too quick to say you are a loyal friend who is without any reliable friends. Have you been supporting your friends in a way that shows them you are reliable? If not, do you have a valued friend who needs you right now?

Romans 15:5-6
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Your wealth is rotting away, and your fine clothes are moth-eaten rags. Your gold and silver have become worthless. (NLT) ( James 5:2-3 )

If you read much news, it's easy to get fearful. Cities filing bankruptcy, neighborhoods of homes sitting empty, and lots of people looking for work. Paying attention to these articles makes you question if it can happen to you and if everything you have can get wiped out. Take a deep breath. Remember that your security is found in God and He will provide for you. That faithful thought, if repeated, can fight any amount of anxiety.

Psalms 1:1-2
Book One
Psalm 1
The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked
Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

Ecclesiastes 7:8: Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

For since the world began, no ear has heard, and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him! (NLT) ( Isaiah 64:4 )

As children it is very difficult to sit for 15 minutes because it feels like forever. Yet, with age comes the rapid speed of passing time. When it comes to waiting on the Lord why does it feel like we are children all over again? Then, when the waiting is over, God produces an unexpected and undeserved outcome and the waiting becomes insignificant. If you find yourself in a period of waiting for the Lord, gather your patience and know that He is working FOR you.

Thieves are jealous of each other's loot, but the godly are well rooted and bear their own fruit. (NLT) ( Proverbs 12:12 )

Do you ever find yourself envious of other people? It is only natural, everyone does, it's part of being human. However, we don't have to act on our feelings. This verse tells us that with being strong in our faith comes the ability to create our own fruit! Of course, this is done through God. But how awesome to know we can rise above thieves, who only steal from each other, and instead can glorify God with creating fruit.
