An honor to be able to work on this tribute to Robin Williams.

Our tribute to Robin Williams, and the many characters he played on the silver screen:
Robin Williams, a beloved comedian and actor, <a href="http://www.latimes.com/local/obituaries/la-me-robin-williams-20140812-story.html" title="Robin Williams dies at 63; Oscar-winning actor, comic genius">died Monday</a> in what the Marin County Sheriff's Office said was an <a href="http://documents.latimes.com/robin-williams-coroners-report/" title="Robin Williams: Coroner’s report">apparent suicide</a>. He was 63. Over the years Williams w...

Just another scene from Broadway in DTLA.
While it's a long way from its heyday as a theater district, Broadway in downtown L.A. is still one of the most vibrant and interesting corridors of the city. Music blares out of doorways, stores sell all shapes and sizes of goods and you never quite know what you're going to see next.

Also, don't miss this searchable database of claims filed against NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, NHL and MLS teams.
Since 1990, professional athletes have filed more than 6,300 workers' compensation claims in California against NFL teams and 3,100 claims against teams from other professional sports leagues alleging acute injuries, such as broken bones, as well as cumulative injuries incurred over time. Cumulative filings, most involving head or brain trauma, have increased markedly since 2006. Names may appear more than once because players often make multi...

Remember: the American flag is not a piece of clothing.
With the Fourth of July weekend coming up, and residual excitement about the U.S. men's national soccer team after their World Cup loss to Belgium on Tuesday, it seems like there have been many, many people walking around in the American flag, or clothing made up of the "stars and stripes."

Glad to have been a part of +Ken Bensinger's  swan song at the LA Times. Publicity from a legislative battle in Sacramento caused a flood of workers' comp claims in September. Buzzer beaters include Lynn Swann, Dan Marino and Thurman Thomas in football, Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler in basketball, and Jim Palmer and Randy Johnson in baseball.
Publicity from a fight over state law prompts players across the country to file more than 1,000 injury claims before a September deadline; that could cost top pro sports leagues hundreds of millions.

Hey, Los Angeles. Ever wonder where your water comes from? There it is - take it.
For 100 years, the Los Angeles Aqueduct has delivered water to a thirsty city, wending its way for more than 200 miles from the Owens Valley, through canyons and deserts, down to the modern metropolis. A feat of engineering and a product of political maneuvering, it nurtured the region's growth while leaving conflict in its wake.
