I've been coming here literally since the first week they opened in 1988. Having just moved back after a long absence, I thought I'd try this one-time favorite. I've been twice for lunch. The prices are very good and I'll come back just for that reason alone. The food was really good the first time, but OK the second (number 13 on the lunch menu; meh). I can't remember what I had the first time. The service was a bit off. The waiter kept disappearing around a corner. He was on the phone or just gone. When I walked up to the place at 11:45am I thought they were closed since there wasn't anyone in the place and the open signs were off -- since they don't have their hours posted, I thought maybe they were closed on Thursdays. At 12:20pm there were only three people in the place. I think they could do better if they tried a little harder. The food and the prices make this place worth the visit. The service on the other hand... let's just say it seems like they're their biggest problem.

Phuket Thai is not a looker. Everything about the place is a little faded and a little dusty. The fish tanks don't have fish in them, and there are a lot of creepy porcelain cats. The fact is, if I didn't live next door to the place I would probably never have given it a second thought. But I do, and over the last 4 years I've tried pretty much every item on the menu. And I can say with confidence that there are two things going for this place that support my rating--the people who run it, and the yellow curry. The staff are an incredibly nice family who will go out of their way to make you feel at home. The yellow curry (that's #47 for the menu sticklers) is a rich, satisfying broth with plenty of chicken, potato, and even some bay leaves, which are a cool touch. So give it a try--don't bother making it a sit-down meal, just order your #47 for take-out, chat with the family while they prep it, and enjoy the yellow curry in the area at your leisure. TLDR: The empty fishtanks look suspicious But the yellow curry is delicious

Been here twice. First time with good service, the second-not so good. The food remains okay at best. Still looking for a Thai place that knocks my socks off. Update-they charged me .65 to make something spicy! Wtphuket?

I've been here a couple times, since it's just a few blocks from my house. I think there are a lot of great Thai restaurants in San Francisco, and although this probably wouldn't be on my Top 3 list, I think it's definitely a great place to go if you're in the neighborhood and looking for something a little cheaper than Thep Phenom a few blocks away. The green curry is good, not too creamy, and quite spicy. The noodle dishes are solid, and I like what they've done with fried tofu. Overall, very unassuming Thai restaurant. Good for a quiet dine-in experience, also delivery and pick-up works well.

My family has been ordering takeout from Phuket Thai for years and we love it! Definitely my favorite Thai place, I recommend it. The staff are all super friendly and attentive and the food is always awesome. We love the Pad Thai, fried rice, chicken skewers, and their soups. :)

Phuket Thai's a family owned restaurant that is one of my go-tos for Thai. It's close by and has friendly service. I am a fan of their Pad See Ew with extra veggies. It isn't mind-blowing but it is not a bad option if you happen to be in the area!

Didn't love the fried rice dish. Also, watch out! "Mild" is still pretty spicy.
