The #Mac Hard Drive #Recovery site is alive! Um, I mean live. We put a little something extra in there for the #PowerPC and OS X Cheetah users.

I've realized over the last few days that over 22% of readers on my Mac Data Backup site are ‪#PowerPC‬ Mac users. I have my own theories as to what's going on here, but am interested in what other people have to say.
If you have a Mac, how old is it and what OS X are you using?
If you have a PC. what's your OS?

There once was a time that drives let you know they were physically etching those little 1s and zeros onto the disks surface. Not surprisingly, music was also a lot less technical, often requiring three or more performers to successfully complete a single song.

Those were dark days indeed.

While it is pretty exciting that someone has built a functional 4kb hard drive in #Minecraft , a lot of people are missing the point on how it works. The Minecraft #sandbox is an amazing world that is probably best likened to virtual Lego's where each block has its own set of properties.

Granted my own Minecraft world doesn't feature anything greater than a rail network connecting buildings, mines and a slime generator, but awesome stuff has been happening in other people's worlds for awhile. Minecrafters were building digital clocks in 2011.

There are plenty of online storage services out there just waiting for your business, but providing for your own cloud does have its advantages.

Disk imaging software can easily be the best backup software you didn't know about. Beyond imaging and virtualization capabilities, some brands have built-in backup functions, block level updates and are even burn on the fly capable. You know, just in case you want to back up that DVD collection.

Online backup services can sometimes be that black hole where you want to throw your money, but you should take a moment to evaluate locally installed options before jumping into the cloud.
