Melissa Flynn, the program manager for Lincoln Square’s YEA! Class of 2013, puts it all in perspective: “These young students lack the fear of failure that many adults have that stop adults from trying something new. Stop being logical and just start writing it out. The logic part comes later.” Think about it! So true.

We are always looking for new places for our student business field trips! Here’s some perspective from a field trip host in Rochester, NY, who has been with the program for 9 years! “YEA! works on a lot of different skills for students that ultimately will help them be leaders in whatever they choose to do.”-Helen Miller, Co-Owner, Scott Miller Salon, Spa, Store.

YEA! Alum Justin Hillery of Rochester, NY is taking his determination to new heights with his company, Strong Arm Technologies. Hillery won a $100,000 prize at the MIT Mass Challenge in 2012, a $25,000 prize at Rochester’s Regional Business Plan Competition, $75,000 at the NYS Business Plan Competition in Albany, and was given a check for $300,000 from Excell Partners, Inc., the first round of a total of $900,000 in investments that Strong Arm will use to establish a manufacturing and distribution system in the Rochester area.
