I'm having difficulty understanding View Holders and Expandable List Views... I created a question on Stack Overflow, but no one has replied. Any chance anyone here would be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks for any help.

The link is: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/38855702/how-do-i-use-viewholder-with-expandablelistview

I'm having some trouble validating a string - can anyone help? I have the following:

private static boolean isValidChars(String testString) {
Pattern p = Pattern.compile("[A-Za-z0-9_]");
Matcher m = p.matcher(testString);
boolean b = m.matches();
return b;
}

I want it to return true if the string testString contains only numbers, letters and underscores, and false otherwise, but it seems to return false no matter what. I think I've got the regular expression wrong... can anyone advise me?

Please help - I'm desperate! Android Studio is suddenly giving me the error "Unable to obtain result of 'adb version'".  I'm not able to run any emulators (although I can run them from the AVD manager). I can run adb via the command line, and can obtain the version that way.

I've tried every solution I've found online - firewall settings, killing adb processes, reinstalling sdk and Android Studio (that worked briefly, but then the error started happening again).

I'm really desperate, as I can't get any development done.

My system is Windows 10, and I'm using the latest version of Android Studio.  The only thing I changed just before it stopped working was adding the project to Version Control.

I'd be really grateful for any help, as I'm absolutely stuck and unable to complete any work for my business.  Thank you!

This Post Is A Bit Serious And Contains A Smattering Of Religion. I'm also not really sure why I'm telling you it, except that it's in my head and I want to get it out.
Well, over 2 people thought the "Here's-a-headline-and-I-wrote-a-better-article" thing was a good idea, so I'll be doing that forthwith.  In the meantime, I've been Thinking Thinks, and decided to share some of them, for no real reason except that sometimes...

A New Idea I've Been Thinking About
So I've had this new idea, and it stems from the fact that I keep seeing articles with really interesting titles which are not anywhere near as interesting when I actually click on them.  So I'm thinking of writing blog posts which contain what I wanted the...

The 10 Day You Challenge. Day 10: 1 Photo
Sorry.  Forgot all about this.  Here's me on my first bike, as previously mentioned: The bike was called "Pritter", apparently.  I think I was trying to say "Critter", although where I got that from, I'm not sure.  Probably an encyclopedia or something.

The 10 Day You Challenge. Day 8: 3 Films
To be honest, I don't really like films that much.  They're ok.  I've probably seen, like, 3 of them in my life.  So: 1. Shrek I loved Shrek.  A back-to-front fairy tale where the ugly people win and there's a talking donkey.  Total win. 2. Toy Story All my...

The 10 Day You Challenge. Day 6: Five Foods
Ok, five foods.  I have a love-hate relationship with food; I appreciate that it's essential for survival, but it's the first thing I cut out if I'm in any way stressed or upset.  I have all manner of rules around when and where I can eat; for instance, I d...

Ok, we're half way there with today's post.  More, if you consider that there were lots more things on day 1 than on day 10.  But narrowi...
