Today I travel to Edmonton Alberta Canada to meet the rest of the Dad's Garage crew for our most ambitious invasion of the Edmonton Fringe Festival yet. Last year Edmonton treated us really good, and we sold out most of our shows. Here's hoping they like what we've got for them this time.
This year we're taking 3 shows: Our popular puppet extravaganza returns from last year. The Super Villain Monologues, complete with new material and puppets. We've got our new original production about Mike Shatz' addiction to strip clubs called VIP Room. Last but not least we'll also be performing our classic kid's show Uncle Grampa's Hoo-Dilly Storytime.
I get to perform as not one, but two different robot puppets this year. Watch out Canada. My robot revolution is beginning with you!
I get to sleep in the basement of +Mark Meer
's house surrounded by the most impressive toy, prop, and costume collection I've ever got to personally play with. I'm hoping to perform (as the Moon) in the classic Improvised Soap Opera Die-Nasty (that Dad's Garage "borrowed from heavily" to create Scandal!) and maybe jump into one of Rocket Sugar Factory's Imrpovised movies with +Lucky Yates
. I'm really grateful that I get to perform and hang out with some of the coolest/funniest people I've ever met.
