Why is it valuable to keep the Yang/fire  of the body well anchored? First let’s say that well rooted means the opposite of floating. When we are strong and grounded our Yang is anchored.. This is what we cultivate in martial arts, the stored energy in the Dan Tien below the navel is the tiger, the paragon of stored energy ready to spring when needed. But when this Yang leaves its source it is like a dragon, and this is what we see with many pathologies involving heat floating to the head and skin as in eczema, acne, insomnia, and menopausal flushing.

Every method has its pros and cons. The problem with EBM and double blind studies: Can you study, e.g., whether acupuncture helps back pain by doing the same exact treatment on 100 people, when, in Chinese Medicine, we would do 100 different treatments on 100 different people. So your double blind study just tested whether doing acupuncture THE WRONG WAY works or not...Very funny, but not. That, too, 100 different acupuncture folk have 100 different methods, its not cookie cutter medicine like Western Med, which is exactly one of the problems with West Med and one of the strengths of Chinese Med and Ayurveda

In Chinese Medicine we use cupping and sliding cupping to open up the flow of Qi through the tendino-muscular channels, through the main channels, and through the skin and underlying fascia. The tree that bends does not break, and when the Qi flows well our body’s and minds remain flexible and youthful.
