Ofcourse the fort itself was beautiful, next to the Bosphorus, which allows nice views. However, entry costs 10 lira, which is too much considering that it is not allowed to climb any stairs nor towers or even go inside a tower. Everywhere signs with 'no entry'. Still we climbed some stairs but then the security whistled us back. In half an hour we were already outside because we saw all what we could see. It was slightly a disappointment.

Great views from the battlements, though not a place to take children with the lack of railings.

It's amazing that this structure was built in just four months. It even included a theater! For visitors who like climbing, the fortress allows for magnificent views. Virtually all parts of the fortress are accessible, although some parts are off-limits (though there's no way telling which ones). The northward bus from Kabataş can drop you off just near the nearby bridge to Asia.
