This is one of the best restaurants that we've found since moving to Asheville about a year ago. It is the best vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Asheville...and arguably one of the best in the Southeast. But even if you're not 100% plant based in your eating you'll still find the food amazing. Jason, the chef and owner, is so friendly and cares deeply about his wonderful food creations. Highly recommend for all lovers of fine dining.

My family, a friend, and I went to Plant expecting great food (even though we knew it would be on the pricey side). We ordered the roasted peppers and cream cheese plate, a salad, green beans and drinks from an admittedly unfamiliar menu. The portions were incredibly small, but the roasted pepper dish was something that I still have a hard time wrapping my head around. The dish was made from about 10 small roasted peppers in a bit of cream cheese (vegan of course), a few slices of cucumber, and 4 to 5 thin sweet potato chips. As I came out of the shock of seeing a plate of literally a few roasted peppers and I took my first bite I knew I was in trouble. The pepper was definitely hot. When I took a bite of the other peppers I knew that I would not be able to eat much more (my mother did not fare any better). Both her and I were born in the north of Mexico (where eating hot peppers is a way of life). I am accustomed (since age 2) to eating peppers and chiles (serrano, jalapeños, Anaheim, piquin, habaneros, etc) in almost every meal. But the way that this dish was presented to us was simply unacceptable. I don't know what chef in their right mind sends out four orders of hot peppers with no accompaniment to mitigate the heat in the dish. I enjoy habanero salsas with relish and ease, but (and this is key) the pepper(s) have to be combined with other ingredients to mitigate the heat. In all fairness, the staff was very apologetic and the bill was reduced by $20.00, but we were still hungry (and frustrated) when we left the restaurant. The moral of this long review is this. Don't trust the ratings on a restaurant and always make sure you know portion in relation to price and food quality. Lastly, always ask what the dish will look like :)

Yes to everything here! I would go out of my way to come back. The vegan cheese platter was indeed sort of life-changing. Carmelized artichokes were also perfect. Cuisine 4.5 / Service 5 / atmosphere 4.5 / portion size 5

Ate there last Saturday night and to me the food was just average. The surprise came when we got the bill. To me the food was very pricy for what you got.

Amazing Food!!! The "cheese" plate was out of this world. The cashew cheese was the best I have ever tasted and I will back for more. Not trying to embellish at all here, this was one of the best meals I have had in my life. The Seitan chili con queso was wonderful, the tamale gordo was excellent. As far as the service goes, we got there a little early for our reservations but we where seated right away. The waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable when we asked about how the cashew cheese was made. Overall the service was great and my glass was never empty. Everyone who is a vegan or likes vegan food should try this place.

This spot is great for special occasions & romantic dinners. Pricey but amazing! Best vegan ever... Performance star Moby ate here multiple times in 2011 with his family & tour crew during Moogfest.

Best food ever! We had a group of 8 and everyone absolutely loved their meals. The cheese platter is phenomenal. I was so excited to come here because we don't have a ton of vegan options in Atlanta, and it still far exceeded our expectations. The meat eaters in our group did not miss a thing. And the prices are very reasonable. Couldn't recommend it enough!

I don't care if you're a carnivore or an herbivore, it boils down to one simple thing: the food at Plant tastes really good. For some people, it seems weird to have a meal with no meat, but billions of people do it every day, and it's no big deal. If you're not scared to skip meat, and you like FOOD THAT TASTES GOOD, go try Plant for yourself. If you're not sure what to order, ask your server, because the people there are really cool and helpful for those of us not well-versed in vegan foods. Oh, and save room for dessert. Or maybe two desserts.

Plant hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
