Thought I would join in with #takeyourdogtoworkday Millie isn't allowed in my clinic but its lovely to be able to have a cuddle at lunchtime.
A recent study showed that older people with dogs walk an average 20 minutes more a day than those without. Walking is a great form of exercise but if you are having difficulties through stiffness or pain then maybe we can help

Is your new years resolution to get fitter? Where do you start and how do you stay motivated and injury free?
We all know the benefits of physical activity; reduce the risk of heart disease, improve balance and coordination, decrease weight and improve sleep and self-esteem. But how do we stop returning to our old ways?
Knowing your starting fitness level is a great motivational tool, using it as a bench mark to measure progress. Use fitness plans to stay motivated and achieve goals set. Start at a level suitable for you and progress slowly and build activity into your daily routine.
Below is a link to starting different physical activities, including couch to 5k which has been very motivational for many people

An easy to watch video demonstrating the benefits of acupuncture and physiotherapy together for the recovery of sports injuries. Sarah Considine is a credited member of AACP and routinely uses acupuncture alongside physwitherapy to benefit her clients.

Time to push your running a bit further, make your training more challenging? Then why not give cross country running a go. Not only is it an excuse to get muddy, it is good for proprioception which can help prevent lower limb injuries
