"As media pundits, Republican leaders, and more than half of U.S. states moved to slam the door on war refugees from Syria in the wake of attacks in Paris, presidential candidate Bernie Sanders delivered a speech in Cleveland, Ohio on Monday night saying the nation must 'not succumb to Islamophobia' or give into such 'demagoguery and fear-mongering'."

This would just exacerbate the alienation on which terrorists feed.

"Bernie Sanders is running for President on a highly positive vision that would leave his grandchildren and everybody else a happier place to live. His policies would enable the wealthiest nation in history to meet the basic rights of its citizens: universal health care, tuition-free tertiary education and the right to organize. He will do this at the expense of the rich and powerful
President Franklin Roosevelt’s leadership in the 1930’s showed how to effectively use the Treasury to turn the economy around and make it work for the people. Sanders would use tax money to relieve poverty, create decent-paying jobs and set the stage for prosperity by building and repairing infrastructure.
Of major twentieth century leaders, Sanders has the closest political and philosophical affinity to Martin Luther King, Jr. King is best remembered for his leadership in the movement that used nonviolent resistance to fight institutional racism and bring about many civil rights reforms, including the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1968 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. As a student, Sanders joined King’s movement to organize protests against racist segregation policies at the University of Chicago. In Sanders’ presidential campaign, this passion has translated into the broadest platform for racial justice of any of the candidates, including the strongest criminal justice reform positions.
There is a reason that a majority of Americans support Sanders’ 'radical' and 'extreme' Democratic Socialism. His positions are American as Teddy Roosevelt’s trust-busting, FDR’s New Deal or MLK's Civil Rights Movement. President Sanders would use the strategies of these great leaders to conserve the American project's core principle: government by the people, for the people."
