I mostly think about insect sex... mostly.
Introduction
Making a late break for academic freedom, I have returned to university and am studying for a PhD in evolutionary biology. I am researching sexual selection and its effect on mutation load, with my study organism being a species of cricket called Gryllodes sigillatus. This means I talk about insects and sex a lot, and insect sex even more.

I write about science - focusing on evolution, sexual selection, and insects - at http://tomhouslay.wordpress.com

I write snippets about the sexual quirks of the natural world in an amusing / irritating fashion at http://naturesextoptips.tumblr.com

I take photographs of wildlife and post them at http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomhouslay

A quick post on the excitement of finding fungus on honeymoon, and a rubbish attempt to make a David Attenborough meme...

I'm doing my bit for the internet with this low-quality video of a jumping spider doing a poo. ENJOY.

Having reached the heady heights of our 50th episode, we managed to get the fantastic David Quammen on our podcast! David is an incredible science writer who has authored books on topics including viruses, evolution, and Darwin; he also writes for magazines such as National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Harper's... not only that, but he is amazingly nice and interesting and funny! So, you should definitely check out this episode...
