TAKE BACK SCHEME FOR EMPTY PESTICIDE CONTAINERS – AGROCHEM INDUSTRY

The main existence of Agrochemicals Association of Kenya (AAK)/CLK revolves around ensuring that pest control products are handled and used in the right way from manufacturing to end use. This is in addition to the self-regulatory and advocacy roles that the association also has. AAK/CLK has been running an Empty Pesticide Container Management programme in Kenya since 2014.

On 21 January 2019; as a key stakeholder in waste management, Agrochemicals Association of Kenya (AAK)/CLK had the opportunity to make its oral submissions to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry on National Waste Management Bill and Policy as a move to reaffirm the industry’s commitment in taking responsibility to manage Empty Pesticide Containers.
