One of the things we keep hearing from people regarding our eminent closure is "What can we do to help?" Well, the foremost thing we can think of is to continue coming to our shows. Moving costs money, and the more we have banked from our final months the easier it'll be for us.

We have our last stage shows going on this month with SANTASTIC! and THE MESHUGANUTCRACKER IN CONCERT. There will be COMEDYSPORTZ events on the 25th and 31st. Plus some great movies, including: BAD SANTA, NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION, WHITE CHRISTMAS and the BACK TO THE FUTURE Trilogy.

We don't know what we're showing in January yet, but we're going to try to make it incredible. We're looking at what some of our best loved films have been in the past three-or-so years, plus we want to have a big send-off to finish our time here at this 43-year old dome!

Also, if you've ever wanted to have an event here this will literally be your last chance. Just pop over to our survey (http://theretrodome.com/index.php/theatre-rentals-main) and tell us what you want to do, and we'll work out the details with you and you can say you were one of the last people to have an event here!

As the end gets closer, we'll start asking for help removing everything from this location. We don't know where it's going yet, but we aim to leave nothing behind, except the building itself and lots of great memories!

It's a busy weekend for us here at the Retro Dome. We have Billy Bob Thornton as the "Bad Santa", 15 great young performers (and one jolly old soul) in Santastic! and three classic stop-motion holiday favorites on the big screen!

Just a reminder that the Retro Dome has been nominated in ten categories for the 2012 BroadwayWorld San Francisco Awards!

The critics have made their nominations (thank you!) and the audience votes. So, we're asking you - our audience - to please vote.

Here are our nominations:

-Best Choreography (Local): Shannon Guggneheim
-Best Costume Design (Local): Julie Engelbright
-Best Direction of a Musical (Local): Scott Guggenheim
-Best Featured Actor in a Musical (Local): Ric Iverson
-Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Local): Breigh Finnerty
-Best Leading Actor in a Musical (Local): Stephen Guggenheim
-Best Leading Actress in a Musical (Local): Shannon Guggenheim
-Best Local Musical: The Game Show Show!
-Best Special Theater Event: Becoming Britney
-Theater of the Year: The Retro Dome

It'll be great for the Game Show Show to win some awards, as we're hoping to perform it in other localities (maybe even on Broadway! One can dream...) So to say it was the best local musical of 2012 would be a great door opener.

Of course getting theatre of the year would be wonderful as well, and a fitting tribute to our efforts as we end our time at our current location.

If you are planning on coming to see Santastic! in December, we have a special deal for our on-line fans. When you purchase your tickets in advance, you can use the code 20SANTA to get 20% off any ticket to the show. This makes any ticket equal to or less than the early-bird prices that expired on Thanksgiving.

Also, the 20% discount only applies to the advance purchases. So if you thought of buying the basic Kringle ticket and upgrading at the door, you may want to consider purchasing the package you or your child will want with that discount.

Plus, an other cost saving tip for you: The adults in your party do not need to buy the higher priced tickets - unless you really want to take part in the post show Imagination Stations and picture with Santa. Everyone (of all ages) coming to the show needs the basic $18 Kringle ticket, but only those who wish to get the Fun Pack or to take part in the post show activities need to have the $22 (+Fun Pack), $36 (+Imagination Stations) or $44 (+Photo with Santa) tickets.

You may want to get your tickets for the Wizard of Oz Sing Along soon, as the Sunday showing is filling up quite well. The Friday show has more great seats available.

There's no place like Dome!
