Children hear the word “no” far too often. Studies show that toddlers typically hear the word “no” 400 times daily, which you can imagine gets tedious for the parents and the child. The Wafflehoffers, Curious Maple, is a story that helps your child understand it’s important to ask questions.
If all adults were required to get a degree in child psychology before they became parents, they’d undoubtedly undergo far less stress and anxiety in raising a child.
But sadly many of us don’t have that psychology degree, so we don’t understand how our child’s brain works and reacts as it grows and develops.

To understand why your child behaves a certain way, you have to be aware of what is going on in your child’s brain. This can help you tremendously with interaction with them. What occurs during the first five years of life can have an enormous impact on, not only how well the baby’s brain develops at the moment but, how well the child learns and grows throughout their lifetime. By the age of five, 85% of the child’s brain development has taken place. Learn more...

Now this can be a character that stimulates your curiosity (someone who can’t stand to admit he’s wrong, explosive boss, a corrupt preacher) or it can be a situation (being falsely accused of a crime, getting kidnapped, being in love with someone who can’t stand you). It may be something you see in real life, read in the paper, or dream up on your own in a daydream, or during meditation time.
There are many ways to come up with an idea: Learn how...

We fiction writers have to write about things that have never happened to us, and we have to make them believable. Sometimes we need to write about emotions we’ve never felt.
Actors have to use a technique called method acting.
In method acting an actor has to remember an event or feeling in his own life that are similar to what his character is going through.
As a writer, you can use these similar experiences to build your character. You can be a method writer. Learn more...
