Banana Coffee Muffins (https://goo.gl/C1oWRW)

If you have been looking for a delicious breakfast muffin to serve this year on Christmas morning, these Banana Coffee Muffins will be a scrumptious treat. They are quick and tasty, and they are a whole new way to enjoy Britt coffee!

To make these muffins, you will need:

1/3 cup melted butter
4 ripe bananas, smashed
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 tablespoons strong Café Britt coffee
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped macadamia or pecans

These muffins are very easy to make. Simply preheat your over to 350 degrees F, grease a 12 cup muffin tin (or use paper liners), and then, in a large mixing bowl, mix the butter into the smashed bananas using a wooden spoon. Next, mix in the sugar, egg, coffee, and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, combine the baking soda, salt, and flour, and then mix into the wet mixture until it is incorporated. Fold in the chopped nuts and then pour into muffin tins.

Bake for 20 to 30 minutes. When a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean, they are done. Cool on a wire rack.

Finding Your Coffee Sweet Spot (https://goo.gl/1j5TS1)

Recently, many studies have been showing that caffeine is good for you. Not only can it help you feel more alert, focused, and energetic, it is being associated with lowering the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and dementia, among other benefits.

Of course, too much of anything is never good and too much coffee can cause you to have to deal with the caffeine jitters or even caffeine-induced GI discomfort ... not to mention it can disrupt your sleep cycle if you drink too much or too close to bedtime.

So, the trick is to find your coffee "sweet spot" ... you know ... not too much ... but, not too little ... what we are looking for is "just right."

This article on Forbes can help you figure out where your coffee sweet spot lies: https://goo.gl/1j5TS1

Latest Coffee Trends (https://goo.gl/DvXoEj)

According to a recent National Coffee Association (NCA) report on coffee drinking trends in America in 2017, 59% of the coffee consumed each day is classified as "gourmet." This is significant because it is the first time in the 67 year history of the report that more than half of daily coffee consumption falls into this specialized category.

This report shows that there has been a "fundamental shift in the American coffee landscape." As more and more people choose to drink coffee that comes at a higher price premium, it helps reinforce that gourmet coffee is distinct from the commodity market and celebrated for its unique flavors and specific origins.

Specialty coffee is also characterized by direct relationships with coffee farmers--a way to recognize, and pay for, their effort and care. It matters because increasing numbers of people view coffee as an affordable luxury, not just bitter churn and burn to get them through their day.

Here's an Update on Jaguar Project (https://goo.gl/GdgSSA)

You may remember a few months ago when we announced the launch of our Jaguar Blend, a program designed to support jaguar conservation efforts here in Costa Rica through research and education.

As part of our commitment to social responsibility, we provided 10 Bushnell remote wildlife cameras to the Programa Jaguar del Instituto Internacional en Conservación y Manejo de Vida Silvestre (ICOMVIS, International Institute for Wildlife Conservation and Management). Equipped with video, audio, and photography capabilities, these cameras were then placed in strategic locations in Santa Rosa National Park.

These cameras were able to record day and night and are currently producing over a million photos a month, which provides researchers with a wealth of information to help them effectively do their work.

We are happy to report that the cameras were successful in documenting the presence of a number of felines and other mammals within the park.

We spoke with Dr. Eduardo Carrillo, program director, about the success of the cameras in Santa Rosa and he said that these photos are incredibly important because "it's going to allow us to develop indexes in order to see the status of conservation and the health of the forests and make decisions appropriate for effective conservation."

This project is part of a larger Britt program that supports threatened wild animals in Costa Rica. We select specific projects with NGOs and public organizations that allow us to involve our customers and employees.

What Is the Difference Between a Frappe and a Milkshake? (https://goo.gl/ZPsqkN)

On Friday, we shared a recipe for a frappe with you ... and you may have wondered exactly what is the difference between a frappe and a milkshake ... are we right?

In a nutshell, you are more likely to get a cold, creamy frappe in a coffee shop and an old-fashioned milkshake in your local ice cream parlor. Frappes are typically made with coffee or tea and then may be flavored with a syrup. Vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry are the classic flavors for milkshakes.

Like many foods, regional differences may affect the definition and flavor of a frappe or shake._

In case you missed our post on Friday, the ingredients for a frappe are very simple:

- 1 1/2 oz Espresso Café Britt
- 1 1/2 oz of cold milk
- Sugar (to your liking)
- Ice

You just put all of the ingredients in a blender and then ... wait for it ... blend until frozen! If you prefer, you can replace the sugar with 1 1/2 oz of flavored syrup.

Look at this tasty treat! (https://goo.gl/sMga7v)

What's not to love about this Espresso Frappe? It is easy to make right at home and sooooo delicious! What's a frappe, you ask? Well, the simplest frappe contains just four ingredients coffee, milk, sugar and ice ... it is similar to a milkshake ... except it has coffee ... and it doesn't have ice cream.

The ingredients of this frappe are very simple:

- 1 1/2 oz Espresso Café Britt
- 1 1/2 oz of cold milk
- Sugar (to your liking)
- Ice

And, this frappe couldn't be easier to make. You just need to put all of the ingredients in a blender and then ... wait for it ... blend until frozen!

If you prefer, you can replace the sugar with 1 1/2 oz of flavored syrup.

No, we didn't miss #NationalCookieDay this week ... we were just too busy eating cookies to care! (https://goo.gl/tGM57a)

Make your next sweet treat with one of our delicious recipes. Surprise your friends with a new treat or indulge yourself. Either way, you're sure to enjoy one of our many inventive ways to cook with coffee and chocolate.

Oh, December 4th, one of our favorite days of the year because ... COOKIES! Okay, so we did technically miss #NationalCookieDay this year; however, we have already forgiven ourselves, and we had a few extra cookies today to make up for it.

These cookies are delish and pair perfectly with a cup of Café Britt coffee (doesn't everything???) ... they don't actually have coffee in the recipe, but they do have Britt Hot Cocoa Powder, so they are extra special.

Still not convinced? Well, if you won't take our word for it, then you are going to have to taste them for yourself. Click here to get the recipe: https://goo.gl/tGM57a

Could Your Coffee Habit Lengthen Your Life? (https://goo.gl/atKPTE)

Good news! Drinking three or four cups of joe a day is safe for most people ... AND, it might protect against heart disease or an early death! This finding applies to the "moderate" coffee drinking crowd, and it stems from a review of 200+ previous studies, conducted by Dr. Robin Poole, a specialist registrar in public health at the University of Southampton in England.

Also, this "fresh analysis" linked moderate coffee drinking to a lower risk for developing many health issues, including type 2 diabetes, prostate, endometrial, skin and liver cancers, liver disease, gout, gallstones, and dementia.

Some of the studies in the review also showed a lower risk for Parkinson's disease, depression and Alzheimer's.

So... what are you waiting for? Go grab another cup! Bottom's up!
