New SRAM Red equipped BMC Racemachines came in -- and they're demo bikes, so anyone wanting to get a sub-15 pound road bike under them is welcome to come try one out.

When I decided to get a custom bike, my first choice was a popular shop in Salt Lake City, since it was the nearest one and since I had utilized their services in the past. However, for reasons that are unclear, they failed to follow up on my inquiries, despite repeated calls. If I use the cliche that it was a blessing in disguise, that would be a huge understatement. John was very prompt, courteous and detailed in his responses. He explained the process of building a custom bike very well and guided me through the entire process. His suggestions and recommendations matched my desire for form matching function. When we, that is I and my wife, picked up the bike in late September, he sat down with us to discuss two other issues (one related to a running injury and the other a bike fit issue for my wife) and made suggestions. In fact, the change he made to my wife's bike has made a huge difference in comfort. A few days ago, our regard for him increased manifold during a rather embarrassing, but amusing little incident. We were riding near St. George, UT when I got a flat. John had recommended the use of the new DT skewers that work a little differently. When my initial attempts at releasing the wheel failed, my wife made a "desperate" call to John! She could only get to his answering machine. While she was searching the web to figure out how to operate the QR, and while I tried to awaken the "dormant engineer" in me (non-existent, to be honest), John called back within minutes to help us out. If that isn't quality service, I wouldn't know what it is. All in all, it was a fantastic experience working with John. I would recommend his services whole heartedly, any time.

After I started bike riding, I started feeling pain in my lower back and elbow. A friend suggested the Bicycle Studio for a bike fitting. John was very knowledgable and pleasant. After making a few adjustments to my bike, I can ride long distances without pain. Thank you, John. Amy H 9/26/2011

The Bicycle Studio has the most personal service -- John patiently answered all my questions and didn't try to upsell me on parts I didn't need. The attention to detail when he was fitting me to my new bike was so great....I've never had such a comfortable bike!

I was a long time customer and a huge supporter of John going back to when he was a PT at Olsen. Then one day I had my fit checked on a second bike but John charged me full price (his web site says a fit on a second bike is $150 not $250). When I told him that I think he overcharged me (thinking it was an innocent mistake) John threw a fit. He gave me a partial refund but told me not to come back ever again, which means I got gypped out of the follow up checks I paid for. All this after I had sent about a dozen other people to his shop, at least one of whom bought a Seven. He used to be really cool but I think he focuses too much on maximizing profits these days. Too bad, he had great potential to be the shop we really need around here. I'll never go back, even if I could.

John W was the best person for me to have found to work with on building a very special custom mt bike. He is totally dedicated to quality and perfection and communications and was able to deliver on a unique configuration with very fair pricing and discounts.

The only place I go to in town to have my bike worked on. Very knowledgeable staff, always seem to leave the shop learning something new. #1 shop
