Had reserved the bistro for a casual after-show dinner. This was booked on-line and the restaurant called the day before to re-confirm. We arrived at the restaurant at 21.45 as per our reservation. They couldn't find any trace of it, didn't believe we actually had a reservation (we had to show the opentable confirmation to convince them!!!) and had already closed their kitchen. The waitress was on top of it extremely slow and unhelpful, suggesting we could stay "if we wanted to" but only to a very limited choice. We went not so far away to Polpo instead and had a great time. My issue is that it is the second time they botched one of my reservations. In a prior experience, I had booked at the restaurant only to get a call the day of the reservation to be told the restaurant was actually full. They suggested to transfer the reservation to the bistro instead which I politely declined as this was for a special occasion. That time, we went to the Club Gascon... also in the neighbourhood. Excellent! In short, it seems that Bleeding Heart has a hard time managing bookings... and frustrated clients. I am sometimes wondering whether they realise the choice clients have in the Farringdon/Smithfields area. Too bad as the restaurant is quite nice when you manage to get your table. While they sort out their staff and system's issues, my recommendation... go to Polpo or the Club Gascon!

staff and service very good.A bad day for the food, my poached egg on toasted brioch was not drained and rendered the toast soggy! the main of rabbit was cold.and the lemon tart pastry dull and lacking sucre.

Some good food. Don't miss their french mustard - it's to die for - literally. Pea soup was good. Considering that this is french place there were enough veggie choices. Decent selection of wines. This place can get noisy but a nice quaint place - eat, drink, chat and repeat.

Delicious food, some unusual creations, French touch. We went there for lunch and would have loved to eat there more often but obviously the restaurant is very busy at lunch times and we had a really time drawing the waiter's attention to us. Friendly and polite staff though.

Tried the Bleeding Heart tavern wondering if its reputation of 15 years ago remained. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have moved with the times. The food was OK, but OK just isn't good enough in London these days as there are so many places doing a brilliant job. Atmosphere rather staid and old fashioned; food fine but some old fashioned-type garnishes and a very odd, almost solid bearnaise...

Great service, the steaks are excellent, couple with the bernaisse.

A beautiful and romantic french restuarant near Farringdon station. Set beneath Bleeding Heart Yard and with a lavish history, the resaurant serves incredible food. On my visit I had the suckling pig which I highly recommend. The service is freindly and professional and the desserts are to die for.
