Takes all day to walk the zoo, start with Australia, they have the most exotic and they take those animals in before any of the rest. I would start early in the morning and rent one of those nice bike things they have. it was nice, but we didn't get to see some of the more exotic animals like the cheetah, tiger, et.c Great place though!:)

Zoo is big and is well maintained..(save for few exhibits that need some weeds pulled out.) there are alot of animals love the feeding giraffe and birds.. Bikes are pricey though.. would go again whole family enjoyed it..

My grandson with autism just got kicked out of Miami Metro Zoo summer camp for requiring "too much staff attention." I am so furious because he attended their spring camp and was fine; When I began my search for camps they said they accepted mild children on the autism spectrum, which is why I enrolled him there in the first place. More shocking was the fact that they told me at dismissal in front of my grandson. For those who know someone with Autism they can't always speak what's on their mind but they surely understand. Once I left my grandson kept asking me what happened. What is society coming to, if our children aren't treated equal? Prevalence numbers are now 1 in every 50 children are diagnosed with some kind of disability. So long Miami metro zoo, you will not see another penny from our family. Sincerely, a mad Hispanic grandmother & family! 2Unlike · · Share

The zoo is very nice and huge! There are alot of animals and it's a great outing for kids. I will highly recommend renting one of the bikes because otherwise there will be a. lot of walking and sweating if is a typical hot day in Miami. Bring your bathing suits as there are a few splash areas and a nice big one right by the oasis grill. It will take all day to travel the whole zoo. Really liked it and my daughters loved it,all in all pretty good.

The layout and planning of the zoo is good. The map could use a numbering sequence to coincide with numbered signs to show your location. They should add more events and attractions as there were very few animals for such a large area. The animal sites could of been better maintained by cutting the weeds and making each section unique with different plant and tree species. Not sure if they allow your own bicycles, which would be a bonus for getting around the zoo. The rental cycles are pricey.
